Guest guest
OM is the Akshara, or the imperishable syllable; OM is the universe, and this is the exposition of OM. The past, the present, and the future - All that was, all is, all that will be, OM. Likewise, all else that may exist Beyond the bounds of time - That, too, is OM -MANDUKYOPANISHAD Verse:1 It is interesting to note that the word 'OM' is never used in ordinary conversation and has no profane meaning, but symbolizes the whole body of Hindu ideology in condensed form. It is held as the most holy syllable and must not be uttered in ungodly manner even be the holy orders of men.

Guest guest
OM Namah Sivaya Dear Sri Thattey, In my mother tongue Tamil, OM means YES. I believe the creator of Tamil lanuage Agastya Mahamuni (under the direct instructions of Lord Skanda) wanted people to apply the Pranava mantra OM when communicating with each other so that he deliberately made OM = YES in Tamil. It is interesting to note that Tamil grammar contains many features of Lord Skanda and hence He is also called Tamil God. Guest guest
The first word spoken by a child is Amma, which is very close to OM or a variation of OM, the word Amma is used by many languages in india to refer to the mother, in Indian culture mother is a symbol of ultimate divinity, also in hindi we refer to me as 'HUM' which is also very close to OM, we can make a lot of inferences to all languages with OM. Guest guest
Hello All members.. Whatever discussion going on between you on the subject 'AUM', I read it very carefully. Let me tell you my views and my experience about 'AUM'. As per my reading, 'AUM' is the noise of the Universe. As we all know, the universe, the galaxies, the stars, the planets are moving-revolving. While making their move, a certain noise is created, which is considered as 'AUM'. I experienced the noise 2-3 times in my life. All those particular ocassions, I was lonely, away from my home, city. I was on a Hill watching the stars, and speculating about some spirituality. My mind was so much concentrated, that I forgot every thing around me. At that time, I felt that the 'AUM' noise is coming from the universe, from the sky and suddenly, I recollected my reading about 'AUM' that 'AUM' is a noise of the universe. Each experience lasted for few minutes until I regained my conciousness. I suggest you to try this view, thought in your life and then see and feel the reality.
