Om Pavan, would like to add the following:

 

In some cases, when adding new bead to older mala, suggestion is to

first wear new bead in seperate mala for 40 to 45 days. After this

period, attach new bead to older mala. Reason is that the older

mala is already attuned with ourselves. Now adding a new bead,

again takes another 40 to 45 days days to get this attuned.
