Dear Wendy,

I normally get your replies via email but these recent days I

never see your replies on my email Inbox, I have to check

messages to see your replies. Is this only happening to me?

Anyway, about this topic - Jupiter for Capricorns - would you say

Jupiter is not that malefic for all Capricorns or just for those, like

yourself, who have it exalted? I also have Jupiter aspecting lagna

(also Capricorn), but from the 9th, conjunct Ketu - this conjunction I

think accounts for some obstacles I experienced while learning Jyotish

at the start.

Best wishes, Rui.

Dear Rui,

//I normally get your replies via email but these recent days I

Try re-setting your mail preferences...this might put things right?

Consider the strength of Jupiter...neutrality indicates he is not very

strong, not very weak. Conjunction with Ketu indicates some hindrance in

regards to Jupiter's significations. His dispositor conjunct 8th lord in 6th

is a further indication of initial struggles...obstacles in his path.

It should be remembered that Jupiter IS a functional malefic for Capricorn

and certainly, in his sub-periods, expenses, losses, moving from normal

place of residence and so forth can be cause for concern...all sorts of

difficulties for the native can prevail. However in his own dasa he has

control and his dignity, strength, association etc will determine his

ability to do good.

Best Wishes,

Mrs. Wendy

Dear Wendy,

Thank you for your reply.

Yes, you are right about my Jupiter, this is also the way I see

things. Ketu and the fact that the 8th lord is conjunct Jupiter's

dispositor accounts for the fact that because I am living abroad I

cannot exercise my vocation, which is teaching, or rather I could but

for that I would have to go into an awful lot of trouble and expense,

which I cannot do now. Hopefully these obstacles will be greatly

diminished during my Jupiter dasa and I will be able to teach again.

Again thank you for looking into my chart and for giving me hope that

Jupiter's dasa will not be such a bad period. I understood that it

greatly depends on the situation of Jupiter in each individual chart

and that Jupiter works better when in its own dasa. Nevertheless I

remember that not all was bad during the subperiods and good things

did happen in all dasas (Moon, Mars and Rahu), although I did lose my

grand aunt (seen from 9th where Jupiter sits with Ketu), during Rahu

dasa, but that would happen sooner or later as she was quite old and

suffering from cancer. In a way, Jupiter came to release her from her

suffering. That same time I got a scholarship to study abroad and I

think I could righly say this was due to Jupiter being in the Sun's

Nakshatra, the Sun being the 8th lord of "money from others"...

Wishing you well, Rui.

Dear Rui,

No dasa is all good or all bad all of the time. We need to consider many

things, not the least of which is transits.

Yes, we discussed this before (if my memory serves me). 8th house =

legacies, unearned income etc..

Best Wishes,

Mrs. Wendy
