Guest guest
I really appreciate hearing how people deal with fear. Fear can be a huge block to blessings. I know this because of my pre-Amma life when I lived in fear of everything. The warped part was that the whole time I was actually pretending not to be afraid, this pretending warped my reality and resulted in me wasting a lot of energy and time and money on things that didn't even matter. Since I met Amma and have her and all of you in my life, the fear has pretty much gone away. I have found that saying the words "Thy will, not mine, be done" each morning and giving control to the divine, then really knowing that the divine is in control really helps to take the fear away it if does pop up in a given situation. Also talking about the fears and realizing that every person has fear about something is very calming. The monkey mind likes us to think we are the only one who is afraid, that is not at all true. "Whatever is not understood, whatever is beyond the ordinary intellect, people want to destroy. They consider it as strange, unreasonable and illogical. Their egos cannot bear it. Not having an ego is unknown to them; therefore, they want to get rid of such egoless phenomena. They are afraid. They fear that such people will destroy their ego and make others egoless as well. If the whole world becomes egoless, then the big, inflated egos will have no existence. They want the ego and the world to exist forever, for without the ego and the world, they cannot possess, acquire, enjoy and indulge. For them life is for that, not for becoming egoless." Amma - Vol.4 p302 Krishnamurti would say that seeing, admitting and facing( not eluding ) ones own fear is the beginning of real bravery. Guest guest
Thanks Amarnath, these words are comforting - and I appreciate that understanding can be shared at last. Guest guest
Namasivaya, In my life I have had to face all sort of fears. Starting with being born in 1939 in the midst of WWII But, it seems my parents protective Love and God's Love kept me safe and free from all sort of dangers around me. But, it did leave an imprint of underlying fears which I am still coping with; even little things like making a trip to unfamiliar places. I have noticed that some fears are mother nature's way of warning us we need to be cautious or change something that we are doing. Perhaps, we made a mistake in commiting to something not of the highest good and there may be fear of ambarassment to admit that we changed our mind; in this case, we need to face our fear of ambarassment or whatever and do what is right. There are so many aspects to fear and everyone uses it daily in so many ways some for good, some for bad. It's good to observe FEAR and become familiar with it's nature; when our identification with FEAR becomes less, FEAR will not be so frightening. And seeing an angel when I was about 6 or 7 helped a lot too; even though I forgot about the experience for many years. Love is the best antidote for fear; and Amma is the best example of fearlessnes. Hopefully, we all will Awaken soon to our true nature as LOVE and be Fearless. Meanwhile, we do the best we can and share our fears not hide them, not deny them. Guest guest
Namah Shivaya, What did the angel look like? Pretty sure I've felt an angel(s), while praying for their help, when working nights in homeless shelter that seemed to have it's share of disembodied spirit activity. The room got very warm in a good way! But, I've never seen an angel. Although a man did talk to me about 3 or 4AM when I was 10. I've wondered all these years, who & what he was. He looked as real as anyone, & as if he might've been of middle eastern decent. Interesting that soon after I called on angels for help, 3 gifts were given to me from different people, which all pictured angels! Thank you, Sweta And seeing an angel when I was about 6 or 7 helped a lot too; even though I forgot about the experience for many years. Want to start your own business? Learn how on Small Business. Guest guest
Jai Amarnath: In my life I have had to face all sort of fears. ------------------------- Thank you for your wonderful sharing! It recalls some thoughts I had recently: All your anger, worries and fears are about things that do not exist. Kandar
