An Urgent Appeal To Hindu Brothers & Sisters

10/26/2006 4:14:46 AM HK

Dear Hindu brothers & Sisters,

There is a grave issue that has come up. The Government of India has

set up

a Commission to find possibility of granting SC/ST status to

converted

Muslims and Christians. This is a deep conspiracy to trigger

widespread

conversions on one hand and to provide converted Christians and

Muslims with

double benefits of minority and SC/ST. If brought into force, the

decision

could have a devastating effect on the Hindus of India.

The Commission has sought public opinion on this issue and Muslim and

Christian groups are flooding the Commission's office with letters,

faxes

and e-mails. The RSS has given a call to all countrymen to outnumber

pro-reservation forces. Hence we all must write/fax/e- mail the

Chairman of

the Commission as soon as possible. The last date of receiving public

opinion is 31st October 2006. Please:

Write a mail to the Chairman of the Commission at:

ncrlm2005 (AT) rediffmail (DOT) com

Fax him at 011-2301 53336

Call him at 011-2301 4177

And register your unhappiness/ anger or any views before 31st October

2006.

Circulate this mail to as many people as possible.

Take a look at the sample letter below. If you are busy to compose a

fresh

letter, just copy + paste the sample on your e-mail compose window -

fill up

the required details and mail it on ncrlm2005 (AT) rediffmail (DOT) com

To,

Justice (Retd.) Shri Rangnath Mishra ji

Chairman, National Commission for Religious and Linguistic Minorities

Gate No. 30, IInd Floor,

Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Lodhi Road

New Delhi

Sir,

We have come to know that you, through your Commission, are

investigating

into the matter of granting reservation to religious and linguistic

minorities of the country in jobs, etc. We have also come to know

that the

issue before you in this regard also includes granting reservation to

the

people of Scheduled Castes and Other Socially and Economically

Backward

Classes of Hinduism who have converted to Islam and Christianity. We

submit

the following suggestions in this regard:

(1) That under the constitution of India the people of Scheduled

Castes

belonging to Hinduism, have been granted reservation in jobs, Lok

Sabha or

State Assemblies on the grounds that these sections have been

socially

discriminated and treated as untouchables. Whereas, this type of

discrimination and untouchability has never been reported in Islam

and

Christianity nor does it exists there today. Under these

circumstances,

there is certainly no need to grant any kind of reservation to any

person

belonging to Islam and Christianity in this country.

(2) That the framers of the constitution of India had extensively

deliberated upon the issue that you are deliberating today and had

decided

not to grant any kind of reservation to the people or sections

belonging to

Islam and Christianity and there are provisions in the constitution

to grant

reservation only to the Scheduled Castes or Sections belonging to

Hinduism.

These provisions are essential today also.

(3) That the Commission for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes

has

already deliberated upon this issue extensively and has already

apprised the

Central Government of its opinion requesting not to grant any kind of

reservation to the converted Muslims and Christians.

(4) If the converted Christians and Muslims are granted the status

of

Scheduled Castes, they will be eligible for double benefits of

reservation

as Scheduled Caste and as Minority - which will be unconstitutional.

(5) That no kind of social discrimination is done against the

converted

Christians and Muslims in Islam and Christianity, nor are they

treated

untouchable. In such a situation, the converted Muslims and

Christians

should not be granted any kind of reservation. Otherwise, it will

encourage

conversion, which will not be in the interest of the country and it

will be

a severe injustice with the people of Scheduled castes belonging to

Hinduism.

Therefore, keeping in view the spirit of Constitution of India, you

are

requested to kindly give your report to the Government against

granting the

status of Scheduled Caste to the converted people of Islam and

Christianity.

With ref to this, its pretty sad that the Govt has appointed a

commision to look into this possiblity. It should be condemned.

Its unfair and Hinduism will have the greatest challenge in its Birth

place India. The commission has to be notified properly the

disadvantages and problems. Ref to this my induvidual opinion is that

the Reservation can be made on the financial status of a family

rather than the present religion / Caste. Its a pity every govt which

comes into power does this for the sake of vote. i extend my fullest

co operation to this Group to represent strongly against this. i will

again post my veiws reg this after a consultation with few other

people.

Thanks

Senthil.

Om Shivaya Namahe.
