Guest guest
Greetings All, I wanted to share the following messages with you, originally posted at AmmaBhakti , and invite you to contact me if this is something that appeals to you and you would like a shirt. -- Mary Ann Daily Amma Question: Amma, you hug everyone. Who hugs you? Amma: The entire creation hugs Amma. Amma and creation are in an eternal embrace. [Moderator's Note: Would anyone out there purchase or want a t-shirt that says "Hug a Mahatma Today" ? I had this idea for a t-shirt and the following concerns arose. I don't think I've shared this here before, but if I did, I haven't received feedback from anyone at Amma Bhakti, and I am inviting your feedback now. Amma's store personnel wondered if folks (westerners) would know what "Mahatma" means, and I wonder, if non-westerner folks know what it means, would they want such a shirt. I like it, but I'm a westerner and I know what "Mahatma" means. To me, such a shirt would be a way of offering Amma hugs while raising money for her charities. Namaste.]

Guest guest
Hi Sweta, I just like the idea of giving something back to Amma, as well as her charities. Was it in the movie Darshan where someone was talking about how people touch Amma so disrespectfully during hugs? If it wasn't in the movie, it was someone telling me how upsetting it was to see how people touched Amma, pulling on her, basically stressing her body, esp. considering how many people she hugs, that she is sometimes injured by people's rough handling, though unintentional. So I liked the idea of hugging the Mahatma back and offering her some support for a change Ammachi, Sweta Mitzel <swetabc wrote: > > I know what a Mahatma is & would wear the shirt! Guest guest
Amma's > store personnel > wondered if folks (westerners) would know what > "Mahatma" means, IMHO most westerners - unless they're not the brightest bulbs in the lamp - would at least think of Gandhi.. you might have to explain that any evolved, realized being could be a Mahatma (literally a great soul) and that it's not Mohandas K. Gandhi's given first name.. he had the "Mahatma" monicker bestowed on him a few years after being booted off the train in South Africa in 1893.
