Guest guest
Chandiroor – the first disease free Village Chandiroor in Alapuzha district ( Kerala , INDIA) is a beautiful village blessed by the birth of Navajyotisri Karunakara Guru. This village consists of 3000 houses. A team of medical students and experts from Santhigiri Siddha Medical College under the supervision of Dr.Jagannathan, BSMS,MD (Siddha), PhD, conducted a door to door medical survey in this village. The survey aimed at identifying the health problems of the villagers and at formulating a long term free health care program for the villagers. In the survey a detailed health report of 2400 patients was prepared. In the subsequent examination and analysis of the health reports, it was found that Thyroid related problems and Filariasis are endemic in this area. Other diseases detected are Rheumatic complaints, respiratory ailments, skin disorders, diabetes mellitus, piles, hyper tension etc. Around 600 patients have been identified for follow up treatment for one year. Others will be treated as general cases in the medical camps. As part of the project, all the patients in the village will be issued a Health Card for receiving free prolonged treatment. Though the project is intended to be for one year, it may be extended according to the situation. Every month a team of doctors from Santhigiri Siddha Medical College will go and examine the patients and will distribute medicines free of cost. Probable reasons for the above said diseases are water contamination due to ice plants, prawn peeling and coconut husk processing units, water stagnation which breeds mosquitoes, lack of sanitation facilities, personal hygiene and pure drinking water facilities. The ultimate objective of the project is to make Chandiroor a disease-free village. The inauguration of ‘Chandiroor Siddha Village' project will be conducted by Dr. Anbumani Ramdoss, Central Minister for Health and Family Welfare on 5th September, 2006, on the day of Onam festival in Kerala. Guest guest
Dear Yashendra, The subject is intended to read as "Chandiroor to be made as the first disease free village in India". It is very clear that due to space constraint an " - " has been provided to convey it. If the title has created the confusion, the same is being cleared now. You must appretiate an organisation which has come forward to do something to the society with the knowledge of Ayurvda and Siddha. Not even the Government of India or even any state Government has come forward to give at least a "false" promise to the people in terms of Good Health. With regards Dinesh kumar.D Yashendra Prasad <yashendra2 > ayurveda Monday, 23 October, 2006 10:08:58 AM Re: Wrong News <ayurveda> Chandiroor – the first disease free Village in India <snip> I wish all the best to Chadiroor people and the team of doctors behind the endeavour. My only purpose here to correct the heading as it paints an unreal picture. Wishing you the best of Health.
