Guest guest
Dear All, I am trying to find a marriage muhurata for December 14, 2006 in New Delhi. Ideally you would want to find the auspicious muhurata (based on the groom and bride's horoscopes) and then set the wedding date but in this case, the wedding date is already set and now the only option is to find a muhurata for that day i.e. basically a choice of 12 lagnas! Three priest contacted by the family came up with three different muhuratas! Based on what I have read, the basic muhurata principles for marriage are 1) Fixed signs for stability of marriage. Dual signs are also good but we should avoid moveable signs. 2) Non affliction of 7 and 8 houses and their lords. Ideally, 7 and 8 houses should be vacant. 3) Malefics in 3,6 and 11 houses 2) Benefics in Trines and Quadrants I personally feel that marriage muhurata around 1:45 pm (Pisces Lagna and Aquarius Navamsa) looks good. The moon is in the 7 house but it is lord of the 5th house and is not afflicted, by conjunction or aspect. The 9th house of Dharma and also a trine is quite strong, with a host of planets Malefics are in the 6th house. The Navamsa lagna is a fixed sign and 7th and 8th house in Navamsa are empty. Any help in this matter would be appreciated. If you could comment on this muhurata or suggest something else, that would be great. Thanks. sincerely, Chandraprakash
Guest guest
II Vyam Vyasadevaya Namah II Dear Chandrprakash, Nameste Good and thought provoking mail. As Stated choice and reference to Bride and Bridegroom is missing. We have to consider custom and community also. Do you think 1:45PM time will be is acceptable when saptpadi is carried out by families joining marriage ceremony. Please also check Pisces Navamsa rises at delhi for time chosen.Incidently latta patta yuti vedha and jamita etc are fine. Perhps Mrityu panchak is there .If obtains please avoid. Traditionally apart from marriage muhurta some panchang give marriage Muhurta for Boys and Girls separately date wise, and can be consulted but in this case 14 December is not a day of Marriage Muhurta. This case falls in category of situation that is termed a condition for adoption of instant Muhurt. It is advised that you should choose the Lagan and House that is relevant for marriage activity that is strong in Sarvastakvarga and one should see that benefic tajak aspect and benefic opening dasa obtains in muhurta kundali cast for time chosen. Obviously in such eventuality lagna suddhi be paid prime attention and rest of factors you have mentioned is best you can do. Hope this help. Above are based on teachings of sh K.K.Joshi of Vidhya Bhawan. .Gurus of SJC parampra may further enlighten.. lastly check Sarvastakvarga of both Bride and Bridegroom. Find either of VII or Lagna with more AV Bindu to arrive at suitable Lagan to rise along with opening dasa for time chosen and ensure saptpadi takes place at chosen time With best wishes..OM TAT SAT R.C.Srivastava ( Consulting Astrologer) Grad in Science , Ayurveda & Telecom Engg. http://www.cosmograce.com http://www.cosmograce.blogspot.com - Chandra Prakash Friday, October 20, 2006 8:57 AM [Om Krishna Guru] Marriage Muhurata . Guest guest
Dear Srivastvaji, Thank you for your learned comments. Here are some more thoughts. Dr. B.V.Raman in his book on Muhurta states the following as the most important considerations in chosing time for marriage. 1) The 7th house must be unoccupied by any planet 2) Mars should not be in the 8th 3) Venus should not be in the 6th 4) The lagna should not be hemmed in between malefics 5) Malefics should not occupy lagna 6) The moon in the election chart should have no association with any other planet He also states that the "Among the zodiacal signs Gemini, Virgo and Libra are the best. Taurus, Cancer, Leo, Sagitarrius and Aquarius are middling. The rest are inauspicious." Narasimha Rao in his book "Vedic Astrology: An Integrated Approach" states that the panchanga elements and specially "Hora" are very important. He further states, in reference to planets in the 7th house of wedding muhurta, that "Planetary strength is more important than strictly following these thumbrules". As far as lagna of wedding muhurta, he states "Benefic owned planet". That would certainly leave out lagna of signs owned by Mars and Saturn. K.K.Joshi in his book, places a lot of importance on "Lagna Suddhi" and gives a table for benefic and malefic positions for planets "Vishwa-bala" from the marriage lagna. Based on these three books, I think Pisces Lagna would be the best lagna given the time constraints i.e. from Sunrise on 14th to Sunrise on 15th December 2006. Both the lagna and seventh lord have a nice yoga in the 9th house along with the ninth lord. Conjuntion of Sun as sixth lord is not good but it seperated by 13 degrees from the other planets. Mercury as seventh lord is vargottama. Lagna is aspected by Rahu but it is also powerfully aspected Jupiter and Moon. 7 house is not aspected by any malefic, although it is occupied by a waning moon. But it is not conjunct any planet nor aspected by any malefic. If we take Rasi aspects then Venus aspects both the lagna and seventh house. The opening Vimsottari Dasha would be of the 5th lord, Moon. In the Navamsa (Aquarius), both 7th and 8th house are empty. The Panchanga elements are quite good. I have used JHora to do the calulations. The second option for wedding muhurta would be Virgo Lagna, which would fall at night time i.e. early morning on the December 15. With this lagna, though, there are no planets in trines, although Moon and Venus occupy the quadrants. This options is really based on the "Vishwa-bala" recommendations of K.K.Joshi in his book. Anyway, would like to hear more, from learned members of the forum. regards, Chandraprakash , "swami" <swami_rcs wrote: > > > II Vyam Vyasadevaya Namah II > > > Dear Chandrprakash, > > Nameste > > Good and thought provoking mail. Guest guest
Hello Everyone, I have some more doubts about the wedding time that need clarifications: 1)Narasimha Rao in his book states that the wedding time for Hindus is when the husband "ties the knot". Since he was referring to the Mangalsutra as a symbol of marriage in the previous sentence, I am assuming that it means "tieing the mangalsutra". Srivastavji in his e-mail mentioned that taking the seven steps, "saptpadi" would indicate marriage. So what is the time of marriage? 2)K.K.Joshi in his book mentions that for love marriage, no muhurta is necessary and that the only consideration that is important is "Tripadi chakra shuddhi" i.e. for certain nakshatras from the sun are considered auspicious for marriage? Is this true? If yes, then is the reference to Nakshtra's means the nakshtra of moon or nakshtra of lagna at the time of marriage? 3)In a lot of countries, one has to register with the government, even if they have been married in a religious marriage. This registration can happen before or after the religious marriage. In such cases do you consider the marriage time for both or only for the first marriage ,whether it is civil or religious? I would greatly appreciate any insight into these questions. Thanks. Chandraprakash , "Chandra Prakash" <vedicstudent wrote: > > Dear Srivastvaji, > > Thank you for your learned comments.
