Guest guest
Dear Ms. Ice Maiden: If at all there is a side-effect, it will be to the "healer" (the person doing the healing) and not to the "healed" (the person who is getting treated) because, it is the negative karma or energy of the patient that might affect a sloppy or incompetent healer! However, in the name of healing, there are charlatans or even dangerous perverts who sometimes misuse their patients' naivete.....There should be absolute trust between the healer and the healed, and the healer should be of a sound moral grounding so as not to exploit the vulnerability of the patient. (There might be circumstances when the healer might have to even touch certain sensitive regions of the body in an attempt to unblock the energy channels of the body; this should be done with a sense of professional detachment on the part of the healer). Of course, there are persons who can do "distance healing" or even if the patient comes in person can do just "pranic scans" in which the physical bodies do not come into contact at all, but the healer just waves the hands inches above the body of the patient. Even I sometimes do that to people through distance healing; but the fact is that the healer does gets affected at times due to karmic energies of the healed in some subtle ways! So, now-a-days I do that only for persons who come in person and that too when they make explicit repeated requests. such holistic healings are of different types. The bottomline is you must know whom to trust and where to go! As for your backache, yoga exercises like paschimottasana, salabhaasana, bhujangaasana, etc practised under expert guidance will be helpful. Try to sleep on hard surfaces instead of soft beds. My prayers for your recovery from back pain. Blessed be.
