Guest guest
Sara and all, Limes and lemons are certainly most auspicious offerings to give to God/Guru. They represent a most precious gift for Amma; all of our bitterness, our sour ways of thinking/percieving/feeling. They say that the guru relishes this offering even more than the sweetest of fruits. During puja, I like to offer some sweet and bitter fruits. You can even offer a whole garland of limes. Now that Amma has devoured your ego, you are free to be sweet and juicy, like Her! love, Prajna
Guest guest
Prajna ji, When we meet Amma in public programs, can we offer Her the Lemon garland made at home? Is there any rule that garlands and eatables can be offered to Her only if we buy from the stalls? Thanks Jany --- Prajna <prajnaji > wrote: >>During puja, I like to offer some sweet and bitter fruits. You can even offer a whole garland of limes. Namaskarams! you can offer anything that you like to Amma...whatever is meaningful to you...you don't have to buy it from the amma shop there at the program...you can make at home and bring and give... this summer for Her programs in Toronto, i made Amma a crystal mala at home (clear quartz crystal is very appropriate for "venusian" types as would be lapis lazuli, or amethyst...) and gave it to Her in Toronto, placing it over Her neck.. so you could make a lemon mala if you like and give....however do think of Amma's comfort...a lemon mala would be pretty heavy, so you might just want to give it to Her Hand, rather than placing it over Her neck...it might be too heavy for Her placed around the neck....whereas the crystal mala i made this summer was light and She continued wearing it...(for at least the rest of the darshan that day)...although we never did find it in the used Amma jewelry section of the book store... and i like to think that Amma might even have worn it on the Devi bhava night, when She wore lots of crystal malas on Her lovely blueish saree...i looked for it in the picture of Her in Devi bhava, but i couldn't find it...nevertheless it might have been there....(i know..."wishful thinking"...but who knows...somethings She wears a lot longer than others...somethings She takes off immediately, or wouldn't even let you put it on...whereas other times She might wear that mala for days...some of the used Amma jewelry looks well worn, while others look like they were never worn. another time when i placed a mala i made for Her (out of rock crystal beads and lapis lazuli beads) She wore the mala for at least the rest of the Darshan...it just slipped down around Her neck and parked itself lovingly in the folds of Her half saree, or on Her dress... anyways...enough of my raving. in Amma's Divine Love, and in Her Service, as ever, your own Self, visvanathan Om Amrtesvaryai Namah!!!
