Awakening Goddess Durga

 

Destroyer of demons, Durga is the most revered Goddess

in the Hindu pantheon. She is considered to be the

mother of the universe and her festival, the Durga

Puja, is celebrated throughout India during autumn. We

hear a devotional song for the goddess Durga, sung by

the Bengali singer Aparna Chakravarty. This bhajan is

repeated every morning in the early hours before the

puja begins.
