Guest guest
Dear Astrolger: Namastae. I would appreciate if you could clarify the following. In a particular chart following are observed. 1) Definition of temporary enemies seem to be as follows: Planets in House 1(conjunction), house 7(opp), houses - 5, 6,8,9 from any planet become its enemies. In a chart, if in House 5, Moon and Saturn (Asc lord) are in Conjunction. Does this imply they are temporary enemies? 2) Benefics for this chart are Saturn, Venus and Mercury (Lords of Trine). However, Mercury is in Combustion with Sun in 6th house. Can I conclude that the effects of the benefic Mercury will be very very less for this native? 3) When I attempted to determine who are the temporary friends and temporary enemies, except for Sat and Moon conjunction (as mentiooned in (1) above), no other enemies for any planet are present. I am surprised by this pattern. Who are the malefics then? I determined this by following the definitions of temporary friends and temp enemies and using the six-fold relationship as mentioned in any astrology book. 4) Also, in this chart, the 4th aspect of Mars is on Rahu, as per Rasi chart. However, when I exactly computed the angular distance between them, they do not form a quadrant relationship. The distance comes to 75 deg 72' only. Some of BV Raman's examples conclusively argue that there is no quadrant realtionship if the actual distance is outside the range from 82 deg to 98 deg (8 deg tolerance). So, can I safely conclude that there is no 4th aspect of Mars on Rahu? 5a) In general, for any chart, is it true that Lords of Trines are always benefics regardless of their position (say, even if they are in 6/8/12th houses)? (5b) Also, can we say that they do good even if they are associated with malefics in a house? Your answers to your queries would clarify my understanding ato a large extent. I look forward to hearing your reply. Thank you. Regards Bharadwaj
Guest guest
Dear Bharadwaj ji, I have never considered temporary/temporal/takalik sambandha by itself and have only used the combined, 5 level consideration (Ati shatru to atimitra). So for me it would be of great interest to follow this discussion thread. Thanks for posting it. While exact aspects (degreewise) sound logical, I am not sure if the drishtis really work the same way as western astrologers conceptualize them (orbs). Then again, in the sripati bala system, the degrees are indeed considered when calculating drigbala. On the other hand when considering rashi drishtis, the entire rashi zone, it seems has a connection/relationship with the other rashi which would indicate that the degrees need not be exact. For instance mars in cancer and moon in scorpio are connected by rashi drishti, even though they may not be aspecting each other by griha drishti. Again, my apologies if I am not making sense or helping you out with your query. I am sure someone else who has experience in this area will help you out, eventually.
