Guest guest
Dr Aatray, would you kindly provide some explaination in simple terms to following too? 1. Ovary is also an endocrine gland, few feet away from cheeks, breast, inners side of thighs; still estrogen patches and progesterone creams are applied on these skins (reason put forward is: skin here is so thin that transdermal transfer is fast). These patches reduce deficiencies of hormones in blood, as evidenced by effects seen on users. 2. In shirodhara, warm oil dropped on forehead gets absorbed to some extent by skin. The micro arteries under the skin and in turn brain should gets nourishment. the way oil dropped in nose during nasya goes to brain, same way, this oil must also travel to brain though less in quantity. Though this is the logic of this author, ayurveda community will appreciate some 100% "ayurvedic" explaination in terms of dhatus and strotas etc from an authority. ayurveda, deep aatray <aatray06 wrote: > Pineal gland is lying on the floor of cranium in hypophyseal fossa so there is no idea to say that Shirodhara acts on Pineal gland. > basically while talking about the brain we used to forget that there is an important part cerebrrum ...... but as i feel it has also nothing to do with Shirodhara, the basic concept behind starts from the skin, skin in the scalp region is too much thin that it gets activated easily by any sensations and when we excite the receptors on the forhead, from a particular height and pressure these activate particular regions of the CNS, to talk abou that will make this too much long....but i can hint you that mental relaxation is more affilated with cerebrrum and cerebellum so....... shirodhara activates these two basically that is why it provides relaxation and concentration. > Wishing You all healthy and harmonious life > Dr. Pardeep Aatray > www.atharvayurveda.com >> this aspects? >
