Guest guest
Lakshmi Shank: Valam-puri v/s Value-puri So what is the price of a good Valampuri Turbinella Pyrum Shell from India in 2006? 1) Fisherman sell max Rs. 800 per gram to dealer 2) Dealer sell max Rs. 3,000 per gram to retailer (or devotee) 3) Retailer sell max Rs. 6,000 per gram to devotee No one should pay MORE than Rs 6,000 per gram, except in special case, such as Raja Valampuri, 7 ridged, or Jewel-quality Valampuri. But, in fact, Valampuri is PRICELESS; and if the World found out about Valampuri then demand would increase and prices would be ANY amount that a buyer agrees to, with almost 0 supply. According to GIA, the true VALUE of a gem is the amount agreed on between a knowledgable buyer and knowledgable seller=REAL VALUE. The normal Hindus are fooled into using common N. American Whelk shells, therefore demand for REAL Valampuri is still low. So should we keep it a secret!?? Best wishes Richard Send instant messages to your online friends http://uk.messenger. Guest guest
Thank you for the very informative message Richard. I wonder how much a small to normal sized Valampuri weights? ---About 30 to 130 grams. Mine is 40 grams and is perfect for my need. I paid Rs 3,000 per gram. Best wishes, R-
Guest guest
Richard sir, namaste. I think in India, the valampuri is sold for rs 600 to rs 1100 per gram. i was offered this price a few months back but i did have enough funds to buy it then..now because of you, the awareness is more on the valampuri among the general religio-spiritual web users i think...but tamilians know what a real valampuri is...also, because of the awareness brought out by your group, i think some dealers or websites might have hiked the price...frankly, i only recently learnt they are being sold for rs 3.5 lakh to rs 5 lakh a piece depending on the weight..it is also said that rudrakshas and valampuris go only to the deserved..now does it mean only those who can pay such whopping costs are the deserved one? perhaps, this is true.. best regards aadi sacred-objects, Richard Shaw Brown <rsbj66 wrote: > > Lakshmi Shank: Valam-puri v/s Value-puri > > So what is the price of a good Valampuri Turbinella Pyrum Shell from > India in 2006? > > 1) Fisherman sell max Rs. 800 per gram to dealer > 2) Dealer sell max Rs. 3,000 per gram to retailer (or devotee) > 3) Retailer sell max Rs. 6,000 per gram to devotee > > No one should pay MORE than Rs 6,000 per gram, except in special case, > such as Raja Valampuri, 7 ridged, or Jewel-quality Valampuri. > > But, in fact, Valampuri is PRICELESS; and if the World found out about > Valampuri then demand would increase and prices would be ANY amount > that a buyer agrees to, with almost 0 supply. > > According to GIA, the true VALUE of a gem is the amount agreed on > between a knowledgable buyer and knowledgable seller=REAL VALUE.
