Guest guest
Weight gain isolated to the abdominal area is often an indicator of adrenal weight gain, more specifically weight gain from stressed adrenals. According to Ayurveda the adrenals are a vata related organ. Typically one will find elevated vata and/or diminished (healthy) kapha (making the distiction here that the weight gain represents unhealty/excess kapha). Stressed adrenals result for some stressor(s). Diet, lifestyle, physiological stressors (GI disturbances, chronic illness, etc.) and any external stressor; job, family, money, etc. Adrenal stress is always secondary to something. Something originally caused the adrenal stress. That said, once adrenal stress advances to a certain level, it becomes a self-perpetuating cycle. The original instigator of the stress may resolve, but since adrenal stress if allowed to continue for a length of time will begin to de-regulate the functionality of a number of dhatus, these de-regulated dhatus will then perpetuate the cycle due to their diminished health. A significant intervention can be required to interrupt this cycle. Identifying and eliminating the original cause (if it is still present is mandatory). Then supporting the re-building of the body and particularly the adrenals. Many of the rasayana herbs are good places to investigatefor adrenal support. --- morse_1954 <morse_1954 > wrote: > I am 52 year old male - relatively in good health. > > My problem is, I have put on some weight over the > last 2 years - about > 20 Kg over-weight (for my 6' height).
