Guest guest
I was reading this Nordic story. As had been mentioned some time ago, other Ancient cultures were very similar to ours. In the Nordic culture too they had Devas and Asursa constantly battling. In the heaven of the Devas, Valhalla, the Devas felt they needed a strong castle to protect themself. But none of them knew about castle building, a speciality of the Demons(Asuras). So they decided to ask the Asuras for help. The Asuras agreed, but on 1 condition- they needed the Godess of Love as the fee. The Devas were worried, but thought that it would take years to build, and they would worry about it later. The Asuras got to work, and throwing rock upon rick, built the castle in a week. Then they came to ask their fees. The Devas were now in a fix, withe the Godess of Love refusing to go. A senior and wise Deva had an idea. He said to the demons "There is just 1 Godess, and so many of you. Why dont you take something you can share, like Gold?" The Asuras agreed, but stipulated the Gold must be enough to cover the body of the Godess. The Devas searched everywhere for Gold, and covered the Godess. At the end, a lock of her hair could still be seen, but they had no more gold to cover it. They looked around and found that their King(like our Indra) had a golden ring. The King was worried, as the Ring was the Symbol of his power, but he had no option to give it up. Before givinf though, he cursed it. The Goddess of Love was now covered in Gold, which the Demons took, along with the ring of power. The lesson? * Where there is Gold, Love is covered. * Power now(in Kaliyug) belongs to the Demons, and anyone who has power is naturally tempted by them. Good people will be troubled by those in power.
