Guest guest
(mostly reposted from F.S. zone, but some added) I just received a phone call from Ken Steben (co-leader) of the DC area satsang saying that because of my Negativity, specifically the online SPEECH, that "the people at M.A. Center" told him never to admit me to an IAM course, ever. Of course, I asked for documentation, from either or both Ken and MAC and in like- bureaucratic fashion, Ken said he'd ask. Hmm... the locals are the ones advertising it and cancelling me, but have refused documentation. Their grounds are my ONLINE SPEECH, saying it proves I'd be disruptive in the class. Glad to see Dayamrita isn't taking things personally. An earlier sent notice (email or other written) would have been the most Dharmic. Dayamrita's such a coward, they could have called or emailed me directly instead of their toadies. I'm sending MAC a bill for my $25 registration, plus my net pay from one day of work, since Saturday was scheduled off and it's short notice. If they don't pay by November, I'll hopefully be able to present my bill and IAM course request to Amma herself. Yes, acceptance of all... WWAD? (What would Amma do?) I have gotten some open-minded responses from the Prosper/sri seva credit spamming. I'll take all the flack, having learned about an old acquaintance's departure from Amma (very depressing for me) in the process so it was worth it. Someone order the trophy, as I'd bet I'm the first to receive a lifetime ban from IAM. Actually, I'd much prefer a medal... tom

So will they also ban you from registering for next month's retreat? Keval
Guest guest
To be banned for life, with no chance for recourse, doesn't seem in line with Amma's teachings. She said something like when it seems all doors are closed, one is left a bit ajar. Guest guest
Namashivaya. Also, Amma says (paraphrasing) that if we keep some one out saying that they are bad, it's like buiding a hospital and then avdertising "No patients allowed". Also, I personally don't like the idea of punishing someone just because they express thoughts that might be offensive to other people - I feel that it may encourage hypocrisy Namashivaya Nirmala Ammachi, Sweta Mitzel <swetabc wrote: > > To be banned for life, with no chance for recourse, doesn't seem in line with Amma's teachings. Guest guest
Om Namah Shivaya Tom, Since you mentioned "what would Amma do?", this brought to mind an experience I had at Amritapuri several years ago where my roommate and a group of her hippy friends were partying loudly at one of the chai shops next to the ashram late one evening. Some of the swamis and brahmacharis came out and made them leave because they were making such a disturbance. My roommate was very distraught. If I remember correctly, they were told they would have to leave the ashram (she woke me up in the middle of the night to tell me this story, high on drugs). She boldy went up to Amma the next day during the Q&A and relayed what had happened. Amma asked her if she was doing drugs. My roommate lied and said no, so Amma kindly allowed her and the other hippies to meet on the roof of the flats at night instead of at the chai shop. While the majority of residents and visiting Amma devotees were disappointed (as we thought they should be kicked out of the ashram for disrespecting the rules), Amma used this event to teach us a much needed lesson in forgiveness, tolerance and compassion. Love, Nischala
Guest guest
I agree that this ban does not fit with Amma's teaching. I also think handing a bill to Amma is a terrible idea... Guest guest
Om Namah Shivaya Tom, Would you be able to find out specifically who at the MA Center, said you were banned for life from the IAM technique? It might not have been Swami Dayamrita. Since this is Amma's technique, wouldn't Amma need to be the one to make this decision? I've noticed a significant change in your recent posts & very much appreciate the more positive nature of them. Thank you, Sweta tom <tomgull (AT) hotmail (DOT) com> wrote: (mostly reposted from F.S. zone, but some added) I just received a phone call from Ken Steben (co-leader) of the DC area satsang saying that because of my Negativity, specifically the online SPEECH, that "the people at M.A. Center" told him never to admit me to an IAM course, ever. Guest guest
I'm expecting the retreat to be refused, but I'll find out soon. Or they could be forcing me to go and see Amma about it. The original problem was raised by the locals to MAC. I don't like when people abuse their power just to get people to think their way. The event is being held at Ken's house, and he probably doesn't want me is his abode. Obviously the group doesn't like me because I won't pledge allegiance to them or Dayamrita.. The whole thing is a royal pain, because taking the trip to get all this cleared up will cost me more than I'm used to spending on myself, and if I'm not able to get another job to supplement my income soon. I've received contact from a certain important person at MAC about another issue, and I asked for clarification on this one, explaining the circumstances. Had it been earlier and done properly, I'd be more understanding. I just want to take the class like anyone else. Previously I hadn't because of the earlier stipulations advertised of "And will commit to doing it daily" or something like that. Until now, I haven't had the time to do a regulated sadhana like IAM. I wasn't wrong about Jetsunma Ahkön Lhamo being a phony, and I'm not wrong about Dayamrita or Shree Maa. Place your bets... No small claims in my future, just more evidence for my documentary on the gunas and my interactions with official devotees to demonstrate them. tom Ammachi, Mike Brooker <patria1818 wrote: > > > > > > I'm sending MAC a bill for my $25 registration, plus > > my net pay from > > one day of work, since Saturday was scheduled off > > and it's short > > notice. Guest guest
My point exactly for the esteemed officials. They're much too old, and have been doing this too long to be taking my words personally. Official leaders have the biggest responsibility in being a good example of Amma's teachings. I assert and will always assert, if someone stops going with their feelings, and actually discriminates my actions with the facts of the case(s), you'll understand why I say and do what I do. It's nothing personal, but people tend to ignore things and go with their feelings (rajas). Had it been done properly, I wouldn't have minded. But what have I always criticized Dayamrita and the DC satsang for? Not doing things properly (Dharmic actions). The former-devotee I know who's left Amma was someone you'd last expect it to happen to, and was a loyal satsang goer, even though she knew it had problems. It was a great shock to learn of it, and puts a new face of pain on those who've done similar. tom Ammachi, "Nischala" <nischala11 wrote: >(snipped) > Amma used this event to teach us a much needed lesson in forgiveness, tolerance and compassion. > > Love, > > Nischala >
Guest guest
I am also convinced if Tom changed his attitude , apologized the Lifetime Ban would be lifted , Amma is about forgiveness and if we show effort in life to change , Who is to say we do not have second chance , as a matter of fact we get millions of them . good luck , joanna
