Guest guest
Dear RR and respected forum members, I have read your article on retrograde grahas and was prompted to give a closer look at a horoscope I was originally confused by because of 3 retrogrades. It has now been a couple months and a few books later, so I gave it another look tonight. I did not look at yogas as I was simply trying to analysis bhavas and grahas. I know there is a yoga about grahas all in separate rasis, but I forget if that is a good thing or bad thing. Anyway, I humbly request your feedback in my basic analysis, especially considering the retrograde elements. I am confused primarily by Surya and Shukra. With sincere gratitude and appreciation, Charles Om Gum Ganapataye Namaha <<<Analysis>>> DOB: April 7th, 1958 3:19 EST Place: Reading, PA 75W56 40N20 Ascendant: Capricorn Malefic Mangala is exalted in Makara in the 1st bhava aspects its own 4th bhava along with retro Buddha and Ketu in the bhava of home and happiness. Also aspects the 7th bhava, throwing a malefic influence on relationships. Last but not least, an aspect is thrown on the 8th. In general, Mangala will make this person somewhat fiery, a pitta type. (what is the impact of the aspect on its debilitation rasi?) Shukra in the 2nd, Shani owns the bhava of family and wealth. Although Shukra is a benefic, it is lessened somewhat by the full aspect of Shani and the fact that it is hemmed in by Surya and Mangala. But some benefic energy is received by the Brihaspati aspect. Or is it as Brihaspati is retrograde? Surya is in the 3rd bhava of courage owned by Brihaspati. Surya is relatively strong but lacks dig bala. I would give mixed results for Surya's impact. (Does Surya represent the self or the father in this case?) Retrograde Buddha is in the 4th bhava owned by and aspected Mangala closely conjunct with Ketu within 1 degree. This situation creates an intuitive and quick mind, but can be thrown out of balance quite easily. The Ketu influence can create some distance and disconnectedness with the Mother (4th). But some benefic energy is received by the Brihaspati aspect. Once again, or is it as Brihaspati is retrograde? Retrograde Brihaspati is in the 10th bhava owned by Shukra and conjunct with Rahu. This combination (Ju/Ra) leads to unusual work situations and the retrograde nature of Brihaspati leads to less than desirable results in overall career demonstrated by financial issues by retro Shani in the 12th. Chandra is Krishna Chaturthi, debilitated in Vrischika, 11th bhava. Dig bala is extremely weak as well. Impacts the 7th as its lord, therefore relationships might be difficult; this difficulty is further exacerbated by Mangala's aspect on the 7th. Retrograde Shani is in the 12th, owned by Brihaspati. As the 12th is the bhava of loss, this is a very bad placement indicating lifelong issues with financial matters. <<<General Observations>>> Mangala as the main graha in the ascendant would normally make them energetic and a tendency to be a bit aggressive. The energetic nature however, is offset or not applied meaningfully by the prevalence of retrograde grahas, Shani, Buddha and Brihaspati. The 4/10 axis of Ketu / Rahu along with the retrograde influences tends to put this person on the fringe of society, not quite fitting in and feeling quite isolated and frustrated. This along with retro Shani in the 12th creates some severe financial issues along with the 10th house career issues. The Buddha / Brihaspati mutual full aspect could indicate a higher than normal intellectual capacity as neither graha is severely afflicted expect by the Mangala influence on Buddha but the unpredictable influences of Ketu / Rahu to factor in the "color" of the mind. Furthermore, this intellectual capacity is definitely "colored" more by the retrograde motion of both grahas. The aggressive nature of the overall strong Mangala influence could be directed externally by blaming the "odd" world around them for the cause of their issues. The childhood or home life of this person has been a challenge evidenced once again by the 4/10 Ketu / Rahu axis on the 4th owned and aspected by the malefic Mangala. This is also seen by the aspect of Shani on the 2nd bhava of family and the Shani maha dasha in early childhood. During the Buddha maha dasha, the individual most likely tried to figure it all out by intellectual reasoning moving further away from the norms of society fueled by Mangala. This followed by the Ketu maha dasha could have been characterized by estrangement from home. The Shukra dasha period might be characterized by attempts to "re-enter" or repair family distances. I am not sure what is in store for the Surya dasha. It could be a focus on self, a resolution or coming to terms with differences of the world around them.
