Guest guest
I just learned that the Mount Madonna Center in Northern California has been approved by the State of California to offer both State recognized degrees in Ayurveda (even a Masters!) and diplomas, depending upon the respective programs. The program looks quite extensive, spanning 21 months( 30 months for the Masters program) in a weekend per month format. They appear to have all the well known Ayurvedic teachers on faculty, Dr. Vasant Lad, Dr. John Doulliard, Dr. Sarita Shresta are just a few of them. They appear to have taken the lead in creating their educational offerings. An extensive internship is an integral part of the program. A number of other schools I have research state they offer an internship, but when reading the fine-print it appears that students really have to create their own program. Mount Madonna appears to be the exception. This will be an in-residence program. Housing and all meals are included as part of the program. They are including a significant portion of hands-on experiential training too. Growing herbs, making medicine and all the Ayurvedic body work therapies. If one is considering a career in Ayurvedic medicine, this looks like a good place to consider.
