Derick, yes pls leave Yantra plate on altar. But make sure you do the

puja early so that ghee lamp and incense are out before you leave the

house. Do not leave them buring if there is nobody in the house who

will keep an eye on the lamp and incense. The person in the house

must make sure they burn out. In your case, better to leave Yantra

exposed if you chant the mantra during puja. You are not away for a

long time so its ok to leave it exposed.
