Guest guest
Om Namah Shivaya As already informed to all Shiva Devotees, with Divine Grace of Lord Siva a great rare event is to take place at Udiyannoor Siva Temple premises on October 13, 14 & 15, 2006 (Friday, Saturday & Stunday) i.e. 1182-Kanni- 27, 28 & 29. This is Sree Maha Rudra Yajnam. This has taken place in the past only in a few temples in Kerala. Udiyannoor Siva Temple is at Nalanchira in Thiruvananthapuram, on M.C. Road and at the eastern side of Mar Ivanios College steps. It is not possible for all to chant or listen to all Vedas, the most excellent and invaluable gift of all times handed down to humanity in this universe. At the same time, in this Kali Yuga, it is inevitable and unavoidable for all devotees the study or listening to at least a few parts of Krishna Yajur Veda, especially the most important portions like that of Sree Rudra Prasna and Chamaka Prasna. The Sree Rudra Prasna and Chamaka Prasna in Krishna Yajur Veda are acclaimed the essence of all Vedas, eliminator of all difficulties, source for divine grace and the source of divine knowledge. This has been revealed through puranas and sages of all times. It is here, in Veda Mantras adding Namaha to 300 names Lord Siva is anointed. Therefore Sree Rudram is also known as Namakam. In one of the branches of Vedas like Sree Krishna Yajurvedathaithareeyasamhita, in Part-IV, Chapter-V contains Sree Rudram. There are 11 parts in it. In today's world, people invite the anger of the Creator and Care Taker Lord Parameswara by not doing the duties assigned to one, do things just the opposite and suffer losses and confront difficulties like various illnesses, etc. How to save one self from Lord Parameswara's anger is the subject of Sree Rudram part-1. Parts 2 to 9 are how to meditate and surrender to the Lord. Parts 10 and 11 explain the ways of salvation from the poisons in water and air and from illnesses and death. In daily pooja of Lord Siva Sree Rudram is used as Abhisheka Mantra. In Santhi Kriyas and during Utsavas, Sree Rudra is chanted 11 times, 11 dravyas (liquids) used for abhishekam and the Lord is worshiped. Chamaka Prasnam is in Sree Krishna Yajurvedam 4th part, 7th chapter with 11 sections. When the Lord is worshipped with Sree Rudra Mantras, He becomes very kind and generous and that time what are to be prayed for from the Lord is contained in Chamaka Prasnam. In this 346 things are prayed for from the Lord. The chanting of Sree Rudra Mantras and Chamaka 11 times chanted as per vedic scriptures by 11 Brahmins is called Ekadisini. Repetition of such chanting 11 times is Maha Rudram. In Sree Maharudra Yajnam the same is chanted 1331 times. Such a most rare and sacred Yajna is taking place in Udiyannoor Siva Temple premises under the direct Tantrik supervision of this temple Tantri Brahmasree Kandaru Rajeevaru of the famousThazhaman Madom.
