Their Majesties also performed pooja at the Baba Gorakhnath temple in the palace premises and at the Bajra Bhairav temple at Upallokot. Following the darshan and pooja at the Gorakhkalika, Gorakhnath and Bajra Bhairav temple, Their Majesties returned back to Pokhara this afternoon. Meanwhile, Their Majesties the King and Queen visited Gorkha today and paid homage to Gorakhkali and Gorakhnath. Fulpati being observed today [ 2006-9-29 ] RSS KATHMANDU, Sept. 29: On the occasion of Bada Dashain festival, the Fulpati is being taken into the homes as per traditions throughout the country today. Fulpati, an assortment of flowers, leaves and fruits of different plants considered auspicious, is anointed at the Dashaighar on the seventh day of the Bada Dashain festival. The Fulpati, which is consecrated at the Dashaighar at the gorakhkali durbar, a historic and religious place in Gorkha, is brought to Kathmandu as per the vedic rites to be anointed at the Dashaighar at the Hanumandhoka Durbar. The Fulpati is carried from Gorkha to Jeevanpur, Dhading by six priestly attendants of the Magar community, including the priest of the Dashainghar at the Gorakha durbar, and it is then taken from Jeevanpur to Jamal in Kathmandu by the priests coming from the Hanumandhoka Dashaighar. The Gurujyuko Platoon, the Nepal army, Nepal police, and high ranking officers of royal palace and civil service, the asha gurja team, band music, and panchebaja bands and decorated kalsyoulis, and a procession along with cultural pageantry leave Jamal from Hanuman Dhoka. Though Dashain festival begins from Ghatasthapana the festival takes speed from the day of Fulpati.
