Guest guest
Recently there was a question in YA about this theory...One Ashoka Sah gave a beautiful answer viz. Best Answer - Chosen By Voters The 'Aryan invasion of India' was a well planned British ploy to perpetuate the Brtish rule in India by invading their culture through a new system of education, by dividing them on lines of language , culture, and castes and preparing them for mass conversion into Christianity. The main pioneers were the missionary scholars like Macaulay, Max Muller, Griffith, Monier - Williams and H.H.Wison. The recent archaeological findings dismiss the theory as a hoax and establish that there was a civilisation by the side of River Saraswati in the Western coast which was much older than the Indus Valley civilisation. The Gulf of Cambay findings put the Indian vedic civilisation as earlier than 9500 years from now. All these findings were traced by a latest technology called 'sub-bottom profiling' and side scan sonar technique. Human remains and other appliances have been found at these sites at a depth of 36 metres under the sea. The recent French excavations at Mehergarh have shown that all antecedents in Indus Valley culture date back to 6000 B.C. Colin Renfrew, another Western scholar places the Indo -Europeans in Greece as early as 6000 B.C. Indo Aryans are even prior to the Indus Valley civilisation. David Frawley, writing in 1994 laments, "Many Hindus still accept, read, or even honour the translations of the 'Vedas done by such Christian missionary scholars..." He further asks, "Would modern Christians accept an interpretation of the Bible or Biblical history done by Hindus aimed at converting them to Hinduism". Guest guest
Actually many text books in the pre-Independence era mentioned Aryan Migration and not Invasion. Unfortunately even after decades after getting freedom we have not had a team of historians to go into this and submit their findings. One of the main reasons is that many political parties depend on the Invasion theory for their very survival. How many translations of the Vedas have been brought out after Independence? The same is the case with the Puranas. Why am I being forced to depend on Vedic Concordance by Maurice Bloomfield? Why are we still depending on the Sacred texts by H.H. Wilson. How come the Sanskrit dictionary I use is Apte's which is more than a hundred years old? (1890). There is not even an update. Since this is in Public Domain (no copyright) anyone could have brought out an update. The political climate in India does not encourage any study on Hinduism or the Indian civilization. I do not think it will improve. It is getting worse. Do not blame the British for all your ills. We should blame ourselves. I do not like Max Muller's views on Hinduism and the Vedas. But as a Hindu I am grateful to him for bringing out the glory of the Vedas.
