What can a brush with death teach us?

As the NDE article has generated interest amongst members, I am enclosing this article of mine which is based on my own first brush with death. The second time too was very traumatic, I felt my work was unfinished. The third time I was a lot calmer. Today I am ready for any eventuality.

It is very important to resolve ones inner conflicts if one expects to face death with serenity.

Dear Jagannath,

I agree wholeheartedly with your views. The further I am

from "unity" with the divine, the more fear I have. Below is an

excerpt from a book by Robert Thurman. Since I have read this

passage, it has stuck with me. I use it as my moral guide, which in

turn will assist me when it is my time.

"We realize that this moment is infinite. Within this moment are all

the qualities of our past and future. Everything we do we should be

willing to redo for eternity. Everything we do reverberates for

eternity, so we should live in ultimate concern for the quality of

our living. We should never think the consequences of what we do are

finite; 'Well, maybe I blow my cool today, but I will be better

tomorrow.' The way we behave today will be infinite in its

consequences. We should live in the infinity of the moment and find

the power of taking responsibility for infinite consequences."
