Law of Karma & Consequences:

When we follow justice in the world, it comes under the part of Pravrutti (path of justice). By this, Lord will be pleased with you, provided you do not ask Him anything and accept the fruits of deeds (good or bad) as per Karma chakra (cycle of deeds) only. But, the problem comes when one starts asking the help of Lord in troubles. This displeases Lord, because you are asking Him to cross justice and help you. It means you are following justice and asking Lord to do injustice. Because as per karma, we have to undergo sufferance during that time and if we ask Him to change it, it means asking Him to cross justice.

So, as long as we follow justice, Lord pleases and gives the results of karmas as per individual's karma chakra only. The results of this karma chakra are sufferance for sins and happiness for good deeds. Even after death also, depending on these deeds only, one goes to hell or heaven only. But both are not permanent. After enjoyments of the results of deeds in hell and heaven, the soul will once again be given re-birth which need not be a human birth. It can be any ranging from inert stone to animal or human being. Thus the soul is confined to cycle of birth and deaths. Here, the individual cannot go beyond heaven.

There is another path called 'Nivrutti', which is path of liberation. In this path only, soul can go even to higher lokas and it can be even go to the highest Brahma Loka also.
