Celebrating Lord Rama Vijayotsava and Dasara

Celebrating Lord Rama Vijayotsava and Dasara

Hare Krishna!

Please accept our respectful greetings and All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

Dasara is celebrated to remember the glorious pastimes of Lord Ramacandra's victory over the evil Ravana. Also, Lord Krishna's famous Raas Lila pastime happened during the same time. Traditionally, in many parts of India, the nine days leading prior to Dasara are very festive and celebrations include kirtan, dance, drama, garba, raas, etc. Most people visit temple and offer prayers to purify themselves and immerse in hearing about wonderful pastimes of the Lord. We have organized a daily program consisting Satsang, Kirtan and Hari Katha from Sept 25th till Oct 2nd for everyone's benefit.

Following is a program outline:

Location: Vedic Cultural Center at Sammamish

Programs: 07.00pm to 07.30pm - Gaura Aarti

07.30pm to 08.00pm - Kirtan & Prayers

08.00pm to 8.30pm - Wonderful narration of various pastimes by Harivilas Das

08.00pm to 9.00pm - Feast

Dates: 9/25/2006 to 10/2/2006 (Monday to Monday)

Special program: We will burn the symbolic effigy of Ravana to symbolize the victory of Dharma (Goodness) over Adharma (Evil). Please bring your friends and families . This celebrations are held on October 1st, Sunday evening, at 6.00pm. In past years children have immensely enjoyed this festival. Please note that on Sunday evening, we will follow our regular program schedule.

Haribol!

Yours in the Service of Sri Sri Radha Nila Madhava, Vedic Cultural Center Devotees!
