Questions about wearing, handling, storing Rudraksha malas

Om Namah Shivayah!

 

I received my first Rudraksha mala a few days ago and have some questions about handling it.

 

1. Is it OK for me to handle them with my hands? Or should I avoid touching them too much, and just put them around my neck?

 

2. I know that I should not loan my Rudraksha to members of my family. Is it OK for them to touch the beads or should I not let anyone else touch them except for me?

 

3. Some people say "don't wear while going to the bathroom", others say it's OK. Who is right? If I remove them, is it OK to keep them in a mala bag in my pocket, or should I not even bring them into the bathroom?

 

4. Should I chant Om Namah Shivayah each time I put Rudraksha on?
