JAI MAA,

OM AIM HRIM KLIM CHAMUNDAYE VICHE.

"I bow to the goddess made of mantra, who consists of the 51

Ganeshas, the nine planets, the 27 constellations, the six Yoginis,

the 12 signs of the Zodiac and the 51 letters of the alphabet and

sacred sites." Vamakeshvara

"Aim Hrîm Klîm Chamundaye Vichche".

Devi was indeed one in the beginning. She emitted the world-egg. She

is Îm, the half syllabic instant after Om.

The desire to know her comes by Her Grace. She reveals Herself as

the Universe and its Mother at the same time, to all who so desire.

The mysteries of the Universe remain mysteries no more.

The mantra for Chandi Devi is called Navakshari or the one

with nine-syllables. The mantra is Aim Hrim Klim Chamundaye Vichhe.

The Durga Saptasathi - a collection of 700 slokas is considered the

most powerful hymns in praise of Maa Durga to invoke the blessings

of the devi or Devi Mahatmya or Glory of the Goddess.

It is a part of the Markandeya Mahapurana. This Purana is related by

Markandeya Maharshi to Jaimini Maharshi and his students who have

taken the form of birds. Markandeya Maharshi relates the history of

the various manvantaras and it is during the story of the eighth

Manu called Savarni that the chapters of the Chandi Path occur.

There are many methods of reciting the Chandi Path some of which are

quite elaborate such as Navachandi, Shatachandi etc. For a basic

reading of it, first one should do the sankalpa, nyasa

(purifications) etc. Then three stotras called the kavacha, argala,

and kilaka stotras are read. Then the actual Path itself is read. It

consists of 13 chapters in 3 "stories" or charitas. If one cannot

read the entire thing in one sitting, one can read the madhyama or

middle charita but the first and third should never be read by

themselves. Finally, three stotras called murtirahasya,

pradhanikarahasya, and vaikrtikarahasya should be read.

In Studying the Chandi Path we learn how to create a balance between

Too little and Too much, how to surrender the arrogance of the Great

Ego, and how to cut through the selfishness of self conceit and Self

Deprecation.

Self Conceit and Self Deprecation are two mighty warriors who

constantly inspire selfishness within all of us. Self Conceit is

haughty and puffed up with pride. Where as his brother, Self

Depreciation, constantly belittles himself, saying, "If only I

hadn't… When will I learn? I was abused, deprived, and therefore…"

and blames every one for his own short comings.

Basically Sadhanas aim at confluence of two energies - that of the

subconsciousness and that of the deity who is propitiated through a

ritual. The propitiation is done through Mantra chantings which are

special divine incantations to which the divine forces respond very

quickly.

Knowledge is Supreme Power and True Knowledge knows no bounds.

Knowledge increases by spreading and sharing, and it banishes the

darkness of ignorance, superstition, misbelieves and fears.

Lord Krishna has said in Bhagwat Gita -

Ashraddhyaa Hutam Dattam Tapastaptam Kritam Cha Yat. Asadityuchyate

Paarth Na Cha Tatpretya No Iha. i.e. Havan or Yagna, charity, Tapa

and Sadhanas accomplished without faith and devotion are but useless

and they bring no rewards.

Isvarah Sarva-Bhutanang Hrid-desha Arjuna Yis-tha-ti

"The Lord, Oh! Arjuna!:, says Sri Krishna in Gita, "dwells in the

heart of all beings."

Debo Bhutuja Devana Yajet

You must become a God in order to worship God. God dose not dwell

somewhere beyond the clouds. He is in the heart of all living beings.

Om sukha-kartaa duhkha-hartaa And HE is every thing.

Every one will participate in the recital and poojan. The aachryaji

will perform pooja and instruct the gathering how to participate in

Devi Poojan.

Aim Hrîm Klîm Chamundaye Vichche".

physical, mental and spiritual Shakti or energy

The supreme Shakti manifests herself in the form of Durga, Lakshmi

and Sarasvathi.

Maa Durga grants to us energy - physical, mental and spiritual.

Maa Lakshmi bestows on us wealth of many kinds - not just money but

intellectual wealth, the wealth of character and others. Even health

is a kind of wealth. She grants untold riches antralaxmi and

Bahyalaxmi, innerlaxmi and outerlaxmi to us.

Maa Sarasvathi bestows on us intelligence, the utmost capacity for

intellectual enquiry and the power of discrimination.

One's own mother is the combination of all these Divine beings. She

provides us energy, wealth and intelligence. She constantly desires

our advancement in life. So she represents all the three goddesses

that we worship.

OM KATYAYANYAI VIDMAHE KANYAKUNARYAI CHA DHEEMAHI,

TANNO DURGA PRACHODAYAT.

AUM MAHALAKSHMAYE VIDMAHE VISHNU PRIYAYE DHI MAHI TANNO LAKSHMI

PRACHODAYAT

AUM VAGDEVYAI CHA VEDMAHE KAMARAJAYA DHEEMAHI, TANNO DEVI

PRACHODAYAT.

She is in three form, always changing, Absolutely beautiful,

beguiling , feel her now, talk to her now. Then She will energize

every cell in your body. She is Radha Rani, she is Mata Seeta, she

is Mata Parvati.

You can call her in so many different names, Devi, Mahadevi, Durga,

Kali, Laxmi, Saraswati, Tripursundari, Maa Amba.

Now let us define Her energy, for analytical minds, in different

forms.

Devi also symbolizes the three gunas or attributes, Satwa, Rajas and

Tamas. Do not think that any form of Devi is of lesser quality

because at that moment She is representing lesser gunas in the

hierarchy. We create these differences and fight for them. Braham is

one and all or He/She travels from many to one. Stone is a stone at

one time, which eventually becomes dust, dust is carried by rain and

from rain a Living form is born. So do you see how that stone has

life in it? That stone has all three gunas, all the 5 bhutas.

Well lets go back to what we were discussing, Devi takes the Rajasic

form to suppress the forces of evil and protect the Satwic qualities.

When the forces of injustice, immorality and untruth have grown to

monstrous proportions and are indulging in a death dance, the Dance

Kali, when selfishness and self-interest are rampant, when men have

lost all sense of kindness and compassion, the Atmic principle,

assuming the form of Shakti, taking on the Rajasic quality, seeks to

destroy the evil elements. This is the inner meaning of the Durga,

one of the form of Devi..

One more thing, The significance of Durga, Lakshmi and Sarasvathi has

to be rightly understood. They represent three kinds of potencies in

man.

Ichchaa Shakti, will power,

Kriya Shakti, the power of purposeful action, and

Jnaana Shakti - the power of discernment.

Maa Sarasvathi is manifest in man as the power of speech,

intelligence, gyan and budhi: Vaak. Maa Durga is present in the form

of dynamism, the ultimate Thruth. Maa Lakshmi is manifest in the form

of will power.

The body indicates Kriya Shakti. The mind is the repository of

Ichchaa Shakti. The Atma is Jnaana Shakti. Kriya Shakti comes from

the body, which is material. The power that activates the body that

is inert and makes it vibrant is Ichchaa Shakti. Your innate Desire

for Action with a purpose. The power that induces the vibrations of

Ichchaa Shakti is Jnaana Shakti, which causes radiation of energy.

Your innate Desire for Intelligent Action is all Three in One.

These three potencies are represented by the Gayatri Mantra Om Bhur

Bhuvah Suvaha. Bhur represents Bhuloka, the earth. Bhuvah represents

the life force, conscience in man. Suvaha represents the power of

radiation. All three are present in man.

Thus Durga, Lakshmi and Sarasvathi dwell in the human heart, in your

heart my dear friend. I have been trying to tell you all this time,

"Moko Kahe re dunde bande, Mai to tere pas hu." Always, always.

When people worship Durga, Lakshmi and Sarasvathi externally in

pictures or icons, they are giving physical forms to the subtle

potencies that are within all of you. The unfortunate predicament of

human being is that he/she is not recognizing the powers within him

and developing respect for them. He goes after the external,

attracted by the physical forms. The relationship between the

material and the subtle has to be understood, the innerlaxmi and

outerlaxmi is with in reach for you.

The remedy for all your amalgamations is within you my friend. Make

time for you for one minute, five minutes and go inside. Seek Me; I

am there for you. But he/she seeks response/remedies from outside.

All that is needed is to turn the vision inward to experience the

Divine within.

Let us convert your ichchaa shakti into a yearning for God. Make your

kriya shakti into a force for doing divine actions. Meditate on your

jnaana shakti into the divine Itself.

Now Who is Shakti?

Allow Her to answer for Herself:

Din Nahin Chain Raat Nahin Nindia,

Kase Kahun Dukh Hoye! ……….

Sayeen Mile Sukh Hoye

TALK TO HER AS YOU TALK TO OTHERS, WHO IS THERE TO SEE. ONLY YOU AND

HER, THEN WHY DO YOU FEEL ASHAMED.

Act now. Live now. Know now. Realize now. Be happy now. Paramanand

now.

Every death is a reminder. Every bell that rings says, "The end is

near". Every day robs off from you one part of your precious life.

Therefore, you should be very earnest in plunging yourself in

constant Sadhana. Take the plunge now with HER.

Waver not. Fear not. Doubt not. Do something substantial in the path

of Sadhana instead of wasting your time in idle pursuits and

lethargy. You have infinite strength within you. There is a vast

reservoir of power within you. Therefore, do not lose heart.

Obstacles are stepping stones to success. They will develop your

will. Do not allow yourself to be crushed by them. Defects remind you

of perfection. Sin reminds you of virtue. Chose the positive path.

If you think, "I will take a bath when all the waves of the sea

subside", this is not possible. The waves will never subside and you

will never take a bath. Even so, if you think, "I will start

spiritual Sadhana or meditation when all my cares, worries and

anxieties cease, when all my sons are fixed up in life, when I have

ample leisure after retirement", this is not possible.

You will not be able to sit even for half an hour when you become

old. You will have no strength to do any rigorous Tapas when you are

in advanced senility.

You must start vigorous spiritual practices when you are young,

whatever your conditions, circumstances and environments may be. Then

only you will reap a rich spiritual harvest when you become old. You

will enjoy the everlasting peace of the Eternal.

Do not see what you neighbor is doing, what kind of sadhana is he

doing, is he getting more blessing from your guru. Your Guru taking

him to higher level. You are you, if you look at others then the your

eye is no longer on the "prize".

Any kind of sadhana is better than none. Once you start you will find

the "Path". End is one but path is many.

Wake up. Open your eyes. Learn to discriminate. Do not trust your

Indriyas. They are your enemies. It is very difficult to get a human

birth. Life is short. Time is fleeting. Those who cling to unreal

things of this world are verily committing suicide. Struggle hard to

practise your Svadharma.

Keep the Devadhidev before your eyes always. It does not matter who

you connect with , who your ISHAT is. Make a pledge with me to

recite Sri Ram Charit Manas with in these 9 days, make a pledge with

me to read entire Sri Mad Bahagat Geeta within 9 days, make a pledge

with me to read Durga Saptashati for 9 days, KEEP YOUR FOCUS ON YOUR

ESHAT.

Param Priya Poojya DAdaji says "BE so near to your IShat that when

you call Him, He appears."

Just Like Sri Kabir Das" Kabir is in front and Sri Hari is running

after him."

Have a programme of life. Attempt to realise the ideal. Stick to your

daily spiritual practices with leech-like tenacity. Practise it and

realise Sat-chit-ananda state right now in this very birth. Have a

smile on your face that comes from within.

Spiritual, physical, and mental growth So essential . . . so

valuable . . . and so difficult to maintain. Why? That's the

question every burned-out or morally fallen soul asks these days.

And all of us wrestle with the seemingly endless battle against

spiritual fatigue. If you know your battle and have a game plan for

developing and maintaining a dynamic spiritual life, then you must

feed your forgotten Soul.

Building spiritual discipline back into our lives –

Learning to forgive ourselves –so you can forgive others-

Learning to Love ourselves –so you can love others-

It is your personal walk with God.

Mon, 18 Sep 2006 09:44:36 -0000

Dear Members

Navratri means (Nav=Nine, Ratri=Nights) Festival of nine Nights. This

festival is one of the most prominent festivals of Hinduism dedicated

to chiefly Mother Durga an incarnation of Goddess Parvati, the consort

of Lord Shiva. This is the most pious and pure time in the complete

Hindu calendar. If any one can let me know who to start my navratri

pooja,i do not know many mantra nor i have never worship her. This is

my

Step into spirituality.

Thanking you,

With best wishes
