Guest guest
Internet groups are objects of Maya. We interact and 'meet' with so many minds, through their messages -- human judgmentality creeps in and we acquire polarized views. We think of some as benefic, others as malefic and so on. The fact is that despite all our interactions, we are all really strangers! What we 'think' of others could be completely untrue or misperceived. People who come across as aggressive on the net may in real life be rather meek and introverted. People who come across as cool, collected and balanced may in real life be anxious persons. People who come across as experienced, wise and knowledgeable may have major holes in their knowledge in other areas in their personal lives. All we have to judge each other is through what we write, our style, what we knowingly or unknowingly show and also what we withold. Sometimes anger and sarcasm spills out of frustration. But it is not right. My apologies if I have been guilty of that in the past. I have tried actively to limit that, once I realized that really -- none of you are familiar or friends, but strangers, truth be told. Would I ever talk pretentiously with a stranger? NO! I have been on the net for so long now that it has become a real part of my reality. Starting with compuserve which was a different beast! However, my recent experiences on this forum made me realize that though I was considering regular members friends and brothers and hence was allowing my well-intentioned jestful nature spill a bit too much in my messages and responses -- what I thought was jest amongst friends was my mistake. I was behaving like that with strangers, really. Perhaps I must have hurt their feelings for which I apologize from my heart and place of ignorance. Thanks for helping me realize that, dear forum-members! Rohiniranjan
