That Brahmins shook hands with kings and kept 40% of population as slaves in the name of caste? That There are no hindus in India, but there are shaivaites, vaishvanites, atheists, shaktas, etc etc etc? That False rituals, brahmins and hypocricy were the main reasons for the fall of hinduism? Like the Jews who were blamed for all the ills in Christian countries, in India the Brahmins get blamed for everything. I will answer only this question. >> That There are no hindus in India, but there are shaivaites, > vaishvanites, atheists, shaktas, etc etc etc?<< If you are in the U.S you would find that there are no Christians. there are only Presbyterians, Catholics, etc. You can see here how many denominations are there in Christianity. Some of them swear that some of the others are not even Christians. http://editors.dmoz.org/Society/Religion_and_Spirituality/Christianity/Denominations/ In Islam we have Sunnis, Shias, Ahmedias, Khojas, Wahabis etc. Ahmedias have been declared to be non-Islamic in Pakistan. In Christianity the churches are all separate. It is difficult to attend a church of a different denomination other than your own. I remember the time when we did a Mosque hunting in a Muslim majority town to find a Mosque for a colleague who belonged to a minority Islamic sect. In a country where a particular religion is in a majority, people do tend to emphasize the sects. << That Hindus will vanish finally?>> Yes. When humanity vanishes. Till such time we are safe. <<The primary source of Hinduism from which it derives all its authority and inspiration is the body of literature known as the Vedas. They are four in number. The Rig Veda, Sama Veda, Yajur Veda and Atharva Veda. They were not written by any single person or team of persons. In fact they were not written at all for thousands of years. Till then, over the centuries they were transmitted orally. It is one of the amazing miracles of Indian Heritage that, the Vedas which go back to 2000 B.C have, in spite of being handed down entirely through oral transmission, come down in a single version. Throughout the length and breadth of India, where the Vedas are treasured as our most ancient heritage, not a syllable of them is different in one place from what it is anywhere else.>> The persons who were entrusted with this were called Brahmins. They became Brahmins not by birth but by undertaking the preservation and propagation of the Vedas.

Guest guest
> that Muslim and British invaders did not conquer India due to their > strength, but due to hindus' divisions & weaknesses? Yes I agree with this, but this usually happens in all countries. > That Brahmins shook hands with kings and kept 40% of population as > slaves in the name of caste? Sankaruj has given an excellent answer to this, and I cant really top it. > That There are no hindus in India, but there are shaivaites, > vaishvanites, atheists, shaktas, etc etc etc? You are taking the views of a few self confessed fanatics as the few of all Hindus. Most Hindus(at least ones I know) dont belong to any sect, or dont give sh*t about them. > That False rituals, brahmins and hypocricy were the main reasons for > the fall of hinduism? Fall? What fall would that be baby? Hinduism is as strong as ever. > That Hindus will vanish finally? Yes, and that would be a nice thing right- we would evolove beyond religon to a Time and Space where everyone would think of God at all times, and work acc to his wish spontaneously. Sri Aurobindo called this the Supramental Manifestation.
Guest guest
How far it is true- that Maitree has nothing new, nice or original to say?
Guest guest
True Maitree, you are a brave person for stating the truth. Like I said in a previous post, Hinduism died a long time ago, now only its zombie walks...........
Guest guest
Shanracer, you obviously dont know many Hindus, as most Hinuds do give a sh*t about sects and fight with members of the other sects. And Aurobindo writes such boring books, why are some people so impressed with him.
Guest guest
I have heard of Hindu-Muslim rioting, but never heard of Shaivite-Vaishnavite, at least in last few 100 years. You do live in this century, dont you?
Guest guest
It depends on your viewpoint. If your mind is full of garbage and negativity, that is what you will see everywhere. When Westerners and Indian Communists look at Kali, they see a naked bloodthirsty woman. When Indians look at her, they see their Mother. Kali is the same person. So you need to 1st clear your own eyes, only then can you see the Truth.

Maitrayee is the name of a woman Rishi and you are correctly doing the job. let me answer your questions > that Muslim and British invaders did not conquer India due to their > strength, but due to hindus' divisions & weaknesses? This seems True. The Hindus were engaged in false rituals, they were divided and had lost love for their religion and country. Negative forces took advantage of the situation and put us under the yoke of slavery for hundereds of years. BUT ARE WE WAKING UP NOW ?? ---- > > That Brahmins shook hands with kings and kept 40% of population as > slaves in the name of caste? This is a fashion in India to malign Brahmins for all that happened. Please dont forget that it were Brahmins who have carried the holy scriptures till date, while muslim invaders burnt all our books and libraries. Brahmins kept the hinduism alive in their hearts and souls despite fierce violence from Islam. We should be thankful to Brahmins for this. Of course most of Brahmins have forgotten their role, but they are suffering too ---- - > That There are no hindus in India, but there are shaivaites, > vaishvanites, atheists, shaktas, etc etc etc? That is the beauty of Hinduism that even being shaivites, or vaishnavs or shakta, we are hindus. And there is no fight among them, only difference of ideology...that too is natural as each selects his path as per his mental evolution. --- > That False rituals, brahmins and hypocricy were the main reasons for the fall of hinduism? Partly true...not absolutely. Instead we should ask ourselves if we are trying to purge ourselves of these even now ?? ------------------------------ > That Hindus will vanish finally? > That will never happen. Because Truth remains Truth irrespective of our acceptance. "Kuchh baat hai ki hasti....mitati nahin humari" With love baba

The concept of boring or interesting reading depends upon our mental abilities. A few years before i too thought Aurbindo boring...;after many years of sadhna i could finally understand what he means.
