Guest guest
Dear Ms shalini: New clothes for deity of a temple can be purchased and stitched during pitru paksha.....there is no ritual taboo associated with that. Trithiya, Panchami, Saptami, Dasami, and Dwaadasi thithis are best for purchase of new clothes. Similarly, Aswini, Rohini, Pushya, Poorvaphalguni, Hasta, Swaati, Anuradha, Poorvashaada, Sravana, Uttarabhadrapada and Revati are the best asterisms in which to purchase new clothes. You may use these guidelines to purchase clothes for the deity appropriately. You can then gift the cloth to the temple during Navaraatri because it is very very auspicious to do so. Probably you can gift it on a Friday during the Navaraathri. Generally donating auspicious products to sumangalis during Navaratri Fridays is very very good for the person who donates such products. When you are donating it to the Deity Herself, then the auspicious results will be manifold. Blessed be., Pandit.
