Guest guest
Dear RR Ji, As usual, this village dumbo has not understood your post. But as I used to do in 60 's when watching Angrezi movies, LAUGH WHEN EVERYONE LAUGHS (if you do not understand any dialogue), I think you must have said only good things in connection with my posting (LOL). Thanks for the techsupport. Guest guest
Dear Tatvamasi ji, I was commenting on the beauty of symbolism. From jagran/prana pratishtha to visarjan, the religious-pooja-celebration rituals depict the story of life and living. From conception to death, what happens in human lifetime is what is essentially the scriptural stories indicate. Human bodies take birth, live, then die, just as each year idols are created from earth/clay made to come alive through the belief, shraddha and human touch (of the sculptor, then the priest, aided by the bhakti-belief energy of the devotees) only to be returned to the elements, then reborn again the next year. What is so complicated about that, Sir :-) RR , Tatvamasi <om_tatsat_om wrote: > > Dear RR Ji, > > As usual, this village dumbo has not understood your post. Guest guest
dear readers, this immersion of idols in lakes with all the paint and chemicals in it will definitely pollute the drinking water if the lake is a source of drinking water. If it is immersed in the sea it doesnt affect. In my childhood days i have never seen such giant size idols getting immersed. More so in our place ie south india vinayaka chathurthi was a celeberation done at home and the next day the idol made of clay will be immersed in the well outside the house. but for the last ten years this has become a great tamasha with loud music blarring and i find devotees seem to appreciate more noise rather than silent devotion towards bhakthi marga. It is really painful to see the deterioration towards bhakthi. k.gopu
