Guest guest
Long flights cause blood accumulation, water retention in calf muscles and legs. Airconditioning causes some dehydration as well, so keep sipping fluids. few steps walk every two hours inside the aircraft is also advised on net. Even then, swellings on legs are frequent. Due to lack of sleep, inadequate blood supply to brain, migraine, heaviness, etc are results. One remedy tried by our herbalist/herbal farm member is given at: http://health.ayurveda/message/3103 In order to keep better circulation, one more remedy you can carry in flight as follows: Take 3 litres of water. Add 10 tsp (30-40 gram) dry ginger powder to it. Slow boil till it becomes 1.2 Litres. Add 108 leaves of Tulsi and complete boiling till it becomes 1 Litre. If you can not obtain Tulsi leaves, see if you can get Tulsi powder, 5 tsp or 15 grams. If you use Tulsi powder, add it when Water boiled down to 1.5 Litre. If you do not get Tulsi powder, drop it from receipe. 1 Litre water left finally, add 10-15 tsp powdered crystal sugar or better still jaggery 100 gram. If you are using Tulsi, add jaggery (not sugar) when you are adding Tulsi leaves or powder. Sugar should be added in the absense of jaggery only at end. Fill this water in a water bottle and keep sipping 100 ml evry two hours. If you wish, you can add juice of 1/2 fresh lemon if hostess gives you lemon in cut form (you are not allowed to carry knife in flight), just while taking the drink. NO alcohol/non-veg/dailr food during flight. After reaching India, buy 60 grams Epsom salt(available at any chemist shop OTC), add to 20 litre bucket of hot water, and dip legs upto knee in bucket. 20 minutes that is all. If you can take full tub bath, add 100 grams epsom salt in tub and relax in tub for 40 minutes, or till water is pleasurably warm. You can substitute Epsom salt by Magnesium chloride, (or sea salt if you wish to follow 100% Indian ayurveda). To solve problems that may occur after Indian wedding dinner, carry some trifla powder+black salt, ajwain with you. Nowadays caterers themselves provide Harde Tablets with black salt coating. Post your experience for benifit of other members. ayurveda, "Raja Gursahani" <rajagursahani wrote: > > I am planning to go to India for a wedding and have extensive flight times > and my vata does get deranged due to these heavy flight conditions I was > wondering if anyone knew of any remedies for this situation.
