Aum

 

In the Hindu tradition, Aum is the most sacred of all

syllables, used at the beginning and ending of prayers

and as a spoken mantra for meditation. It's also known

as pranava, the seed mantra. In a religion that

reveres the power of sound and music, Aum is the

primal sound that manifests the divine.
