My dear friends and like minded persons

MAHAA KAAL

From tomorrow the Mahaalaya Paksh starts which is also called as Pithru Paksh, this letter is in that respect.

I have one interesting subject in this mail. A few years ago, most of you might still remember, I wrote a letter to you all about Mahaa Kaal of Ujjain wherein I specifically mentioned that in spite of any one taking birth in Ujjain and living there for a life time, say, 70 years or so, it is not possible for any one to realize and understand what Ujjain is. It is such a sacred place in the name of Avantika of yester years. One may have to recollect Bhoj Mahaaraj, or Vikramaaditya Chakravarthy, or Mahaa Kavi Kaalidaas, or Raaja Bhartruhari and ………….

Today I am not referring all this, but then, I exclaim as how all of us forget MAHAA KAAL or the God of Death. Every living being descending from elsewhere and taking the physical shape of a birth, is under the total control of Mahaa Kaal. No exception whatsoever for any one, even an incarnation of Lord or the Lord himself taking birth on this Globe. The stop clock starts running for any one irrespective of an individual’s greatness or divinity. Every one is under the control of Mahaa Kaal and he is the filter point either to allow us to fly up and up to the upper spheres leading to Moksha or turning down to the black hole to turn back as a living being on the earth.

We do worship for all our pleasures or comforts or whatever it is, the Navagrahaas, the Lords in the name of creator or else, or some such in any religion, region or whatever it is. Most interestingly we presume and worship certain Gods, but comfortably forget what a certainty is – Certainty is nothing but MAHAA KAAL. All games in the name of caste, creed, religion, region, race …what not, all come to an end at Mahaa Kaal. There is no possibility, absolutely no possibility, of escaping the attention of Mahaa Kaal. Some enjoy a Great Raja Yoga at the end by simply leaving the physical body; some struggle; some suffer; some take prolonged time when the kith and kin express their eagerness to perform the final rituals; and many such dramas. I have not come across any one worshipping the Lord of Death - while I have seen many preferring not to utter the name of the Lord of Death and try to conceal themselves without being noticed by Mahaa Kaal. We fear to utter the name

of Lord of Death; we conceal ourselves; we pretend as if we do not what the Lord of Death is; what ever it is – a total certainty is that, the Lord of Death is carefully watching us whether we call him as Lord Yama or something else.

My intention in writing this letter, is to make it clear that HE IS WATCHING AND COUNTING THE TIME MORE ACCURATELY THAN US, and therefore, if possible or let us make it possible to worship HIM and pray HIM to grant us a peaceful end so that the so called near and dear do not curse us while we remain in bed with a prolonged sickness; or we lead a miserable life with physical and material sufferings. We may miss a Mahaa Raj Yog, but let us not miss the Ultimate Raajaadhiraj Yog.

According to the Vedic order of life, there is a simple way or worshiping the Lord of death by treating HIM as an unusual Lord and offering TARPANAAS. It is a very simple procedure and years ago I made a mention of this in my book. To repeat the same, it is like a DEVA TARPAN and to be offered duly mentioning the name of the Lord and releasing a little water from the right hand four fore fingers fourteen times for fourteen Lords. The Lords are specified in the text named as YAMA TARPAN. According to the original text these tarpanaas are to be offered on any dark fourteenth day of the month more particularly on the dark fourteen day of Aswayuj Maas popularly known as Naraka Chaturdasi, just a day before Diwali. But, when I discussed with my Guruji, he specified that this tarpan can be given an every day as that of Dev Tarpan and hence the procedure is detailed hereunder. My Guruji also made it clear that there is no necessity of using Sesame Seeds – Til for this

purpose. It is 1) Yamam Tarpayaami, 2) Dharma Raajam Tarpayaami, 3) Mrutyum Tarpayaami, 4) Antakam Tarpayaami, 5) Vaivaswatham Tarpayaami, 6) Kaalam Tarpayaami, 7) Sarwa Bhoota Kshayam Tarpayaami, 8) Audumbaram Tarpayaami, 9)Tadadhnam Tarpayaami, 10) Neelam Tarpayaami, 11) Parameshtinam Tarpayaami, 12) Vrukodaram Tarpayaami, 13) Chitram Tarpayaami, 14) Chitraguptam Tarpayaami. These fourteen Tarpanaas at the best take two or three minutes when once one practices this.

By doing this, we cultivate a habit of knowing that the ultimate is watching, AS SUCH we will be completing the tasks expected of us ON TIME. We get a reminder that MAHAA KAAL is in front of us and hence we RESPECT THE KAAL – THE TIME ELEMENT which is specific and CLEARLY SET FOR EACH LIFE.

Nothing is greater than MAHAA KAAL and no one can comfortably escape HIS attention. It is therefore MAHAA KAAL, the GREAT. My small brain could not imagine the whole form of MAHAA KAAL but then, I could put down the form of the Lord of Time into a few line definition – the one which we can not see, the one which we can see; the one which we can not experience, the one which we can experience; the shortest and the lengthiest; the end and the beginning…………………………………….beyond this I have no words, and I remain incapable.

May MAHAA KAAL grant us all PURPOSEFUL AND EVENTFUL SPAN OF LIFE and a Comfortable FINISHING TOUCH.

All the best. Yours affectionately HARA HARA MAHADEVA DR P V SESHA SAI ASWAMEDHAYAAJI

NAMASKAAR

Kaala Mritunjayaya and Om thrayambakam are daily recitations which i

never forget...Shiridi Baba's ashta namavalli and his arati also i

do where Kala finds a mention...and om trayambakam i have been

reciting since infancy....without honouring Yama bhagwan where is

our salvation my respected Aswamedhayaaji?

We owe our life to his grace and we abide his grace at every

step...he governs our dance and makes us sure of our step at every

moment...for sure
