There is no harm giving stones to friends or anyone who has affinity with crystals or any type of stone. Since they have affinity with stones and collect them, there is obviously no damages done against them. In fact you were helping them by being so generous to give them stones to add to their collections. In many ancient cultures such as Egyptian, Mayan, Sumerian, etc, all used stones and crystals as well as precious gems. The use of stones have survived for millennia. If stones were no good and were harmful, their usage would not have survived till today.
