Guest guest
Adarniya Shiva Sadhakas, Pranam. Please advise whether the Beej Mantras which are only abstract syllables or words, e.g. Kran Krim, Kraum etc, do really affect the body, mind and soul, and also the destiny of a human being. In the modern time of science and technology there are being propagated on one of the Indian digital channels upto the extent that millions of Hindus world wide are being hooked unto them. They are being charged lot of money to receive the mantra through a well- known guru. I have heard the guru claiming on the TV (and also in a temple here in UK) that there is no need for a child to attend a school. Simply the recitation of a Beej Mantra for education will ensure his/her success in the exams. The guru says that the Beej Mantras have been derived from the Atharva Veda and he gives them to the people with the blessings of Lord Brahma, Lord Narayana, Lord Shiva, Ma Amba, and so on. The people listening start believing that he has direct communion and comradeship with the gods. He says that he gives the mantra to a Hindu from the Vedas, to a Sikh from Guru Granth Sahib, to a Muslim from Quran, and to a Christian from the Bible. Please advise me if these Beej Mantras really do work or are we taken for a rough ride in this age of IT and discrimination, into the back streets of the medieval past where blind faith, fear and superstitions used to grow like pestilence. Kind Regards. Humbly yours - RAJ SHARDA
Guest guest
RK Sharadaji, There are rituals that are performed in general to maintain harmony, keep it alive and fresh. Some rituals are practiced on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis, some as a seasonal and some in response to major life changes. Seasonal rituals can be hugely calming and satisfying, leaving a feeling of peace and happiness. A systematic clearing ritual can make ones home feel clear and fresh. The aim of generating natural vibrations is to create positive resonances in the surroundings as well. For example, a person visiting a temple feels a sense of well being by hearing the sounds of mantras, ringing of bells etc. This natural enhancement is known as POSITIVE VIBRATION. Since people carryout various rituals and prayers along with the chiming of bells, the circumstances lead to the generation of this mystical positive vibration. Let us proclaim a temple is a store house of natural rythms and vibrations. At the same time we may be visiting so many areas or various surrounding places which may irritate one or one may feel uncomfortable to venture into it. This vibration of discomfort or unpleasant vibration is known as NEGATIVE VIBRATION. In order to produce comfortable energy throughout and to control and counteract negative vibrations produced at various points during our transit around the places, one uses various physical objects like photographs, stones, various metals, amulets, talismans, numerical representations and prayers to produce positive vibrations. This practice of science is known to produce a stable mental balance in a human being or to say achieve a healthy, mental attitude or positive nature. Yet our Vedic wise men bestowed The Mantras to bring in the effect of positive vibrations. By chanting mantras (sacred sound), one effortlessly discard the stress, burdens, sufferings and pain generated by modern life. The Mantras bestow their blessings on all of those who participate and generate a wave of positive energy. Chanting Mantras (Sacred Sounds) is the path of ease. Out of the many spiritual practices available to one, chanting is the path of Ecstasy. These Sacred sounds are the greatest gift from Vedic wise men or Rishis. Chanting is a way of joyfully offering of prayers for one and all those one cares for. As one sweetly sings the powerful sounds of the Mantras, the limited ego, with all its illusions and fears, dissolves and shatters. The more one chants, the more one finds freedom from negative experiences that have challenged one up to the present moment. With chants and songs from Vedic traditions, one can open the doors of spiritual wisdom. . *Why Should one Chant?* * *Mantras (Sacred Sounds) are used to transform negative vibrations and unpleasant challenges. They are good for everyone to practice. Mantras heal one mentally, emotionally and physically, affecting the mind and the body systems. They also dissolve negative thoughts / vibrations thereby bringing in peace and harmony. The chanting of mantras bypasses the mind and carries one straight to the Heart. The focus is on the sound that we are generating through these sacred chants, not necessarily the words that ones mind would like to feed on. In addition to pronouncing mantra, the learned scholars of ancient times bestowed the additional aids to enhance the power of penance. They are Mudras and Yantras. Mudras are basically folding of hands and fingers to attract the spiritual energy where as Yantras are direct representation of Almighty in different pictorial forms to enhance the divine power with in. Matras contain Beejakshars. Beejakshar is otherwise called "Naada Brahma". Ancient Rishis and Munis identified a few letters of "Varna Maala" (Vowels and Consonants) as Beejakshar. Vibrations are produced around one who is chanting Beejaakshar. It is believed that these vibrations are attracted or clinched by physical body and charge the soul with full of positive energy. As a result one gets positive thoughts. It awakens Kundalini by continuous chanting of these Beejakshars. Some schools of thought believe that one should wear maala (Either Crystal, Rudraksh, pearl or Coral) around the neck to draw most of the energy that is generated by vibration of Beejakshar. There is a faith that every beejakshar may not be giving the same result, so it is "Guru" to identify the one that suits to the individual concerned.
