Guest guest
Dear Shri. Vikram: You can buy vehicles even during pitru paksham. There is no specific taboo associated with this. However, generally orthodox persons refrain from any new venture during the pitru paksham (Mahaalaya paksham) and concentrate on propitiating the pitrus (deceased ancestors). It is customary to perform at least tarpanam on the thithi of one's father during this period. The merits of performing shraadh during this period are beyond words to explain. Blessed be. Guest guest
Dear Shri. Haresh: Pinda Daan at Gayaa is for the peace of the soul of ancestors and to ensure good lokhas to them. Whereas performance of Mahalaya shradh is actually beneficial for ourselves. All pitrus are believed to come down to earth to visit their families during this paksha and performance of any dhaan, or tarpan in their honour will invoke their Blessings in our life. Blessed be. Charlie
please listen, all of you, I very badly need to know; is it alright to pooja or invoke the Gods, or one's Ishta Devata during pitra paksha? I have so far recieved disappointing answers from everyone whom I have asked in person; for example; my auntieji says the Gods are asleep during these 15 days, which I find completely ridiculous; it is said that our Gods do not blink, sweat, leave footprints, or cast shadows, and furthermore, being manifestations of divinity, would they not, each and every one be, to at least some extent, all-knowing, all-seeing, all-powerful, and present-everywhere? If it is so, then whence comes this need for our Gods to sleep? Above and beyond this, is not a sanaatani's relationship with his or her God a very intimate one? Why then would God be unavailable to help a devotee during pitra paksha? Please someone reply when you are able.. thanx
