Or Durga Beesa mantra. In any case, for starters: Lord Ganesha removes obstacles to open way for blessings to come. Mantra is: Om GuNg Ganapataye Namaha. Om GuNg Ga-na-pa-ta-ye Na-ma-ha. Om is pronounced as in "ohm" in the Oxford Dictionary. GuNg is lots harder to explain in writing but shall try. Have you heard of the term "Gung Ho"? Also try pronoucing "dung" (sorry guys but this is about the closest to get to verbal pronouciation of "GuNg".) Be cautious becos the sound should not come out as "Goong", gum or gam. In silent recitation, technically Gam and Gum sounds are ok. In verbal pronouciation, Gam or Gum as in "chewing gum", these sounds are close to meaning of "grief or strife". Take a look at this Group's Files Section where our wonderful friend and brother Ketan has uploaded sound files. There should also be other sound files for various deities. MahaLaxmi is the Goddess of Abundance, prosperity and wealth. Mantra is: Om Shreem MahaLakshmiye Namaha. Om Shreem Ma-ha-Lak-shmi-ye Na-ma-ha. "Shreem" is almost like "shrimp" but without pronouncing the "p" sound. > > Thanks again. You are welcome.
