Guest guest
Namaste, I have been enjoying reading the postings on the forum, now I would like to ask a question. I have been having a terrible summer with seasonal allergies. I used to take Sudafed and other OTC during the summer for most of my life, but about two years I made some dramatic lifestyle changes including trying to follow a yogic ayurvedic path. Last year I took Sudafed about twice during the summer, this year, I did pretty good, but this year, I have to take it about every three days; however, I need it more as I am having a very rough time with congestion. I do not want to take OTCs and I am hoping that the knowledgeable users on this forum can offer some advice. My constitution is Pitta-Kapha, mostly Kapha and hear is a summary of my current routine Neti every morning with Vata Nasya Self massage 3-4 times a week Asana practice 3-4 times a week Meditation 4-6 times a week I eat a whole food vegetarian diet, organic wherever possible. Typical day's menu. 6:00 Whole grain cereal with non fat milk, almonds, strawberries. 10:00 Banana, orange juice, blueberries and liquid minerals 12:00 Vegetable salad or vegetable soup 5:00 stir fry tofu with vegetables (I have been eating a lot of tomatoes from our garden, not sure if that is an issue) Also, will have 1-2 protein bars (organic) 2 cappuccinos with non fat milk per day 1 cup of green tea I have been having about 2 mango lassis a week Can any one help with diet change or supplements? I think I should avoid yogurt, but I am not sure that is correct. Om Shanti, Charles
