Guest guest
Namashkar, On Ganesh Chaturdi, it would nice to say a few words on Ganesh, one of Hinduisms most misunderstood Gods. Gan + Ish = Ganesh. Gan are known are Demons of Shivji(Shavjis Gan), that stop normal people from bothering him and Mata Parvati. But Gans are actually powers whose job is to see that only deserving Bhaktas go in prsensce of Shiv/Shakti. Gan+Ish- Ganesh is the Ishta Devtaa of all the Gans- the quickest way to get blessing of both Shiv and Kali is to go thru him. Ganesh is also the main God, the first to be worshipped. He got this honor when there was a race to see who could go around the Universe the fastest. All the Devtaas went on the race, but Ganesh merely went around Shiv and Parvati. When the Devtaas returned, they were told Ganesh had already won. They were suprised how the fat God and his mouse could have outraced them! They were angry that Brahmaji(the judge) was cheating, but Brahmaji replied that Shiv/Shakti were the real Universe- the other Universe was just a Maya, a projection of them. The fact that none of the Devtaas thought of this meant they werent fit to be given the greatest title. This is the symbolism for Ganeshas Elephant head- the Elephant represent Wisdom. The only way to reach Shiv is by Wisdom and Knowledge, Gyan, no Yoga/Tantra is required. Ganeshs fat and silly body is to confuse normal people. People who only look at skin of a person will not pay attention to him, while people who go deeper than skin will recognize his wisdom. This keeps undeserving people away from Shiva and Mata Parvati. Ganesh is a very mystical God, one whose blessing gurantees Mosksha , Brahma Gyan and Good Luck. Thats why almost all rituals- Tantric , Vedic, Astroligical etc start after asking his blessing. Om Gam Ganpatiaye Namah!
