Dear friends,

Happy Ganesh Chaturthi to you all. Shri Ganeshotsav is on the way, no matter which place which country is it. Here in Leicester, UK, devotees has started celebration and will last until 6th September. So, atmosphere is louded with GANPATI BAPPA MORIYA.

This morning when I woke up and was reading a today's gujarati newspaper on internet, www.gujaratsamachar.com. I found out one picture of Shree Ganesh with 10hands with some history stated with it. I found it interesting and thought to share with you.

"Some maintainance work was going on in (vikram savant) 1790, in Nilkanth Mahadev Temple, at place called ASAARVAA. Whilst digging workers found 10handed vertical statue of Shri Ganesh, made of Marble. All 10hands are full of SHASHTRIYA ASTRA-SHASHTRA i.e. BIJORU, GADAA, BAAN, ANKUSH, CHAKRA, PAASH, DHANUSH, DANTT, CHARMA-BANDHA & SNAKE ON BELLY, Kamar Vastra, Jata Mukut etc. There is SIDDHI DEVI standing on left side. The statue was highly impressive, hardly achievable and fantastically artistic that when GAYAKWAD SARKAAR heard this news, and so sent their DIWAAN to bring the statue at Ahemdabad. Diwaan urged to MAHARAJ of NILKANTH AKHADA to give the statue to GAYAKWAAD SARKAAR, for that Govt. will give a State to Maharaj. Maharaj denied to give the statue. So, Govt. promised to pay 600 Rs. every year(VARSHAASAN) to NILKANTH AKHADA. Whilst digging workers also found, SHIVALINGA, SHRI HANUMAAN STATUE, and a SANDAL STONE. Gayakwad Government helped financially to rebuild

the temple and gave it the name: NILKANTH MAHADEV. That time PESHWAAS were dominating in Gujarat State. There is no such 'hardly achieveable' statue in Gujarat State."

It is really an ancient and artistic one. In the history paragraph above, I have used some words as it is, as it was better to say like that I think.

AUM GAM GANPATAYE NAMAH

Dhruv
