Guest guest
Dear Charles, I just happened to se ur mail and ref to raman only for ayanmasa. no he has done more than this. 1st Ayanamsa he used most his grand father too used and usd in may parts of India and the autheor of Wheel of life in 18th century alos quotes how ancient Rishies fixed the precession fo Equinox so rightly and Zita Pisca or revathi star which is what Raman used, rest use chitra paksha. soem danishta paksha and so on. RAMAN edited, wrote the astrological magazine from his grandfather days and till his death. he lectured on astrology in many parts of the world but for him the west would not have seen much of Indian astrology, his interaction with various scientists, docters , psychologists all over the world etc hss helped too he hs translated many clasical works into englis ahd write a few great books HINDU PEDICTIVE ASTROLOGY Predictign Earth quakes, weather catheism of astrology My experiments with astrology HIndu astrolgy and the west and many more he also founded and headed the ICAS=Indian Council of astrological sciences which has been teeachign astrology in a structered format, has produced many great astrologers too, this has led to toehrs also formign such bodies to teach. a great pioneer in astrology and its promotion. whith no govt support and worse contempt for all Hindu values by secular govts of India so far. which willpromote only Islami or what west says is good even of Hindu herritage say YOGA, AYURVEDA ARE BEST EXAMOLES OF IT, Chinees are proud of their we are not. rather stilltaught by what British left behid which suited their divide and rule, British did a lot of good too, we are greatful to them for that as well. charles_corbit <charles_corbit > wrote: Dear Bhaskar, I was taken back a bit when I saw the response(s) to my post. However, I guess it was written in a vague manner. But, I am not looking for instant readings/predictions. As a person who has been in the IT profession for a number of years, I know firsthand that computers are simply a tool and without proper intelligence, they provide little, if any, value. I am very comfortable with the mathematics of astronomy which I pursued as a hobby for numerous years and thus I am able to construct charts with ease I must admit I am new to this subject, however, I have read numerous books by Frawley, Braha and de Fouw. In addition, I also have the Brihat Parasara Hora Sastra (Santhanam), it is next in line after I finish de Fouw's Light on Relationships. I am not familiar with Sri BV Raman other than his contributions to ayanamsha, but I will be sure to look into his work. The reason I was looking into software as a tool is that currently, it is somewhat cumbersome when I am trying to read a chart. I will have all my books out and will be flipping pages as I will recall a pattern or yoga being mentioned, but cannot recall the details. In some ways this is good as I always get sidetracked and end up learning more and more. I want to thank you for your advice and your active contributions to this forum.
