Guest guest
Dear RR, we were wonding if u r sick or busy with ur grand children as in a movies thread u mentionedof ur grand kids, as u dissappeared for a long time. HERE the context of post is even so called atheists at funerals follow some relgion, or gods practices in counter post to ASUTOSH's proclaimed atheism, which runs contrary to JYOTISH REMEDIES, if remediss r there, thn some god is there to propetiate. else vedic jyotish is defeated. and we did say good is a startign point or like a crutch, walking stick once u r sure footed u may not need it further, same way is god a instrument of support. and also fills the space with hope instead of frustration, depression, brooding so a prayer is occupyinga vital area-space of the brain, mind if this is achieved then u r anyway going to reack the goal. with or withor without god if one has his mind strong where such external support in not need great he is one with god already and will succced in spite of failures, setbacks, just like we drive on a pot holed road. crystal pages <jyotish_vani (AT) hotmail (DOT) com> wrote: Prafulla, Funerals are very interesting social rituals, and lest I be blamed for a wrong reason, I do not use the term 'interesting' in its 'positive' sense -- perhaps I meant "intriguing". Having participated in a few funerals of individuals from different religions and belief systems, I have been stricken by their predominant preoccupation with the 'body'. Sure -- the spirit and soul is mentioned and its permanence and supremacy is mentioned, extolled and celebrated, the body remains *central* to the rituals and procedures. The 'disposal' of the body with dignity, with respect and to bring a closure to the worldly existence of the entity is what it is about, in my comprehension. Such disposal is absolutely unavoidable, for obvious reasons, and needs to be done delicately, gently, and appropriately in a manner that is acceptable to a community, religion, region, etc. The 'delicate/gentle' label is something that is very culture specific and personal. If I were to describe, even briefly, the methods used by the different prevailing cultures, I am sure it would offend some or many individuals I am sure. Hence, I must leave it at that other than just mentioning that the procedure/protocol reflects the degree of significance and thus respect given to the physical body that essentially has been abandoned by spirit which though indestructible and permanent does not really come with an earthly accommodation-plan that is going to last forever.
