Guest guest
Hello, My fascination with Jyotish continues. I am trying to determine which application would be the best for pursuing this subject. Can anyone recommend an application? Parashara? Digital Jyotish? Others? Thank you, C

Guest guest
Dear Charles, I too wanted to reply You but just missed. I do not understand the meaning of Digital jyotis. If it means softwares then You better not go for it in the start . I am still not using them for predictions. I dont have too,the costly ones.. See at the most You should use them for chart calculation but for knowing effects of the planets vis a vis their position in the sky (Chart),no one can better make a mix and conclude other than a human brain. Ex. among the best softwares Yoy may use, if You feed of position of Sun in Libra, immediately You will get all the explanations from different texts with quotes and references alongwith effects. But which one to tell the native and subject to other effects and influences which the computer cannot tell You, the effects mentioned quoting the various texts may change drastically.Same with Yogas in a chart. The computer may show many Rajyogas for me, and will keep me happy all my life waiting for the Rajyoga to take effects, but I may leave the world with my pockets empty. So please read Shri Parashar Rishis texts for a start or Shri BV Ramans books which have been Guru to thousands of interested people like You and me.Also read translations of Brihat Jataka, and Mansagri too. regards, Bhaskar. , "" <gg_0202 wrote: > > ||Jai Ramakrishna|| > Dear Charles, > Your message tells that you want such a software which will give > instant readings...so that u dont need to use ur brain... > The software by Futurepoint India can cater ur need... > http://www.indianastrology.com > Thanq > With Humbleness, > Wish u all success, > > http://gauravastro.150m.com > > > > , "charles_corbit" > <charles_corbit@> wrote: > > > > Hello, > > > > My fascination with Jyotish continues. Guest guest
Dear Bhaskar, I was taken back a bit when I saw the response(s) to my post. However, I guess it was written in a vague manner. But, I am not looking for instant readings/predictions. As a person who has been in the IT profession for a number of years, I know firsthand that computers are simply a tool and without proper intelligence, they provide little, if any, value. I am very comfortable with the mathematics of astronomy which I pursued as a hobby for numerous years and thus I am able to construct charts with ease I must admit I am new to this subject, however, I have read numerous books by Frawley, Braha and de Fouw. In addition, I also have the Brihat Parasara Hora Sastra (Santhanam), it is next in line after I finish de Fouw's Light on Relationships. I am not familiar with Sri BV Raman other than his contributions to ayanamsha, but I will be sure to look into his work. The reason I was looking into software as a tool is that currently, it is somewhat cumbersome when I am trying to read a chart. I will have all my books out and will be flipping pages as I will recall a pattern or yoga being mentioned, but cannot recall the details. In some ways this is good as I always get sidetracked and end up learning more and more. I want to thank you for your advice and your active contributions to this forum. Guest guest
Dear Charles, Namaste, Apart from Frawley I would also reccomend other foreign authors, like Sephaerial and Robert E svoboda, someday when I go through my collection of Books. Once You have the set of Books written by Late Mr.BV Raman, I assure You would not have necessary to refer any other authors for at least next two years, as all knowledge necessary for Predictive astrology is available there. I also assure You that with some reading You will know what to search where and find what You are looking for exactly in the books I have suggested, without flipping many pages. Regards Your having been taken aback, I feel that You are quite refined to understand that just like all fingers of hand are not alike in the same way ......... You should let go the approach You have witnessed and not think much about it. Bye and welcome any time if, can be of any service to You. Guest guest
Dear Charles, I recommend trying JHora to see if it suits your needs. It works well (accurate calculations) and is offered at no charge. I do not have any personal experience using any other Jyotish software program so I am not aware of the differences in features. If you do an internet search for JHora you should be able to find the link to download it. Take it easy, Sean > > > , "charles_corbit" > > > <charles_corbit@> wrote: > > > > > > > > Hello, > > > > > > > > My fascination with Jyotish continues. Guest guest
I can give the link for J Hora if required, but would not give the theory part, ie. giving or laying out the results for a particular combination, from all available texts, and putting them on a single page. regards, Bhaskar. , "Sean Patrick Kelly" <toosean wrote: > > Dear Charles, > > I recommend trying JHora to see if it suits your needs.
