I am Vinod Gupta (29 yrs) resident of Dombivli (Mumbai). I am an Electronic Engineer working in a software company. Kindly take a moment to go through my mail below.

I got married on 8th Dec 2001. I have a mother, wife, 4 months old daughter and younger brother in my family. Following are the birth details of my family members:

Vinod: (Me)

Date of birth: 07 April 1977

Time of birth: 7:00 pm

Place of birth: Dombivli (19.10 N / 73.05 E)

Babita (My wife)

Date of birth: 28 February 1979

Time of birth: 10:10 am

Place of birth: Bhandup (18.55 N / 72.54 E)

Siya (My daughter)

Date of birth: 20 March 2006

Time of birth: 2:38 pm

Place of birth: Dombivli (19.10 N / 73.05 E)

Dilip (My brother)

Date of birth: 11 May 1980

Time of birth: 3:34 pm

Place of birth: Dombivli (19.10 N / 73.05 E)

I got a chance to go to USA through my company but after few months I had to return back as my father was ill. I rushed back to India but by the time I reached India my father was no more. I couldn’t even get chance to speak to him last time. My father died of Lung Cancer. My father was working as a government employee. He had good health throughout but suddenly last year he fell ill and was hospitalized for weakness. All tests like blood test, urine test, X-ray report, CT Scan etc were normal. Later doctors told that he is having TB and he was given treatment for Tuberculosis. In spite of taking TB medicines my father’s health never improved but it kept on deteriorating. Just before 3 days of his death doctors diagnosed him for Lung Cancer. We couldn’t save him in spite of admitting him to various good hospitals. After my dad’s death the entire family responsibility is on my shoulders.

My mother is already a patient of Arthritis, high blood pressure, cold, cough, thyroid problem. She also doesn’t get sleep at night. She has to take sleeping pills so that she can sleep for few hours that too sometimes she doesn’t get sleep even after taking the sleeping pills. My mother is too much depressed. She is a negative thinker and keeps thinking something unusual.

My mother has tension about my younger brother’s (Dilip) marriage. I would personally like that he gets married soon so that his wife too can take care of my mother.

I am too facing problems on the job front. I was earlier employed in Mangalore, then I was temporarily transferred to Hyderabad and now after my father’s death I have requested for transfer to Pune which is closer to Mumbai so that I can take care of my old mother. But even that is not working out. My mother was recently hospitalized and I had to take 2 months of leave from office to look after her. From last 2 months I am without pay.

Please answer my following questions with respect to my mail:

1) I am currently in software field (Information Technology) in a reputed company but I am not having job satisfaction. I want to change my job so that I can settle in Mumbai. Will I get a better job in Mumbai if I try to change it? Will I have the job satisfaction that I am looking for in this job? When will I get the job of my dream?

2) Which field is better for me? I am currently in software field (Information Technology).

3) My wife also wants to work but due to my mothers health she is not able to work. Will my wife manage to get a job too in Mumbai?

4) I want to buy a new house in Mumbai but for loan I would need a better job. When can I expect a new house?

5) I was in USA for some time last year and would like to again go abroad with my wife and daughter. Do you foresee any foreign travel for me? When and for how long do you see foreign travel for me?

6) It is said that first daughter is like Laxmi coming home; will my daughter prove beneficial to me?

7) When is it possible for my brother’s marriage?

8) I am also worried about my financial position. Will I have a stable financial position in future?

9) Will my mother’s health improve? Her health is too much a concern for me.

AA: You should try to get another job after Diwali this year. The next job will also not provide job satisfaction, but it will be better paying. The dream job is still far away. Your future is overseas. Try again for a job out of India.

Thanks a lot for taking time and replying my mail. I am sorry for putting too many questions but I was really worried about my mothers health and she was recently hospitalised. I am also not going to office from last 2 months because of all this. Thanks again!
