Here we come to the crux of the problem. The modern doctors realise

that diseases are highly variable and unpredictable and yet they

tend to prescribe the same medication for all and expect the same

results.

This is the mindset which tests holistic therapies and finds fault

with them.

Instead of treating a good number of patients with the same

medicine, why don't we have a test whereby a hundred or so patients

are divided in equal numbers and treated separately by allopaths and

homeopaths/ayurveds and then the patients questioned to know the

extent of relief.

The largest ayurveda group on "ayurveda" has this

challenge open to all.

I would request you to please join the forum and take up the

challenge. The presence of both ayurveds and allopaths will ensure a

decent and unbiased test.

It is very sad that all we are stressing throughout is that the

modern doctors study holistic therapies with interest and an open

mind. But they are not willing to do that. Even our government has

failed to pursuade them in this regard. The doctors do not want to

look beyond the well.

All holistic therapies acknowledge that there are various methods of

healing and the doctor should employ them as per the requirement.

Even Hahnemann had acknowledged this and said that energy medicine

and ultimately spiritual healing would be the medicine of the future.

There is nothing wrong in accepting karma. We don't blame the

patient and treat him to the best extent possible. But we also

advise him on how to lead his life thereafter to avoid the same

condition in future. Here we are seeking to change the persons karma.

We are all suffering from a collective negative karma because we did

not protest when all other modalities of healing were brushed aside

and a treatment alien to our culture was promoted instead. Hence the

collective suffering. We have no one to blame but us.

We can mitigate this karma by actively campaigning for the

development of all therapies, spreading knowledge about them, so

that in the future we have better understanding of health and

wellness and also a choice of treatment.

Jagannath.

Dear Jagannath

Why do you waste energy in arguing with western scientific mindset?

If one keeps his eye and ears open, the changing winds can be

definitely detected. Mainstream belivers with whom you appear to be

arguing, let them find out for themselves that western world is not

only researching oriental techniques such as Neti, Nasya, saltwater

breathing for asthma relief, cucurmin for cancer treatment, an

electronic equipment to guide your breathing to relive

hypertension...list is slowly increasing. Academic researchers are

now taking up herbal research and heartcentreonline.com which used to

sing praise of statin medication, beta blockers etc so far, now is

advertising some herbal formulation for lipid control and

hypertension!! Slavery of 150 years made us ready to embrace each new

trend when it percolates from west only!

Perhaps slowly, without much propoganda, mainstream practitioners

would change to herbal formulations soon. In Mumbai, this phenomenon

is already happening. Along with allopathic drugs, sometimes

arjunarishta, aarogyavardhini, liv 52 are also being seen on

prescriptions. Change is already taking place. the children of

allopaths are already visiting ayurveds and homeopaths. Change can

not happen in a day. The way ayurveds used to prescribe antibiotics

once upon a time, now allopaths have started prescribing ayurvedic

formulations. Even if it is not individualized medicine, still harm

is less. In India this phenomenon is a miracle because, in deep

heart, practitioners know and respect ayurved tradition!

The need has been the driving factor in all inventions/change of

philosophies and in medicine too, this has already started. It would

be better to conserve energy on alternative techniques only!
