Guest guest
OM NAMAH SIVAYA this is a great idea Amarnath! another thing that i have used in doing japa is to figure out the number of malas i can repeat in one hour. then i know how many hours during the day i need to be repeating my mantra to equal the number of my goal. i have found it helps my concentration because i can quit with counting all together. "The mind will be steadied if one repeats the name of God fifteen to twenty-thousand times a day. I myself have experienced it. Let them practice it first: if they fail, let them complain." -Sri Sarada Devi, pg.31 Sri Sarada Vijnanagita i guess ideally the goal is to be repeating Mantra ALL the time. so all i really have to do is be aware of when the Mantra is interrupted by other thoughts and simply start repeating it again.
