Guest guest
Wonderful post, as usual! The Guru Gita is such a beautiful way of exploring the truth of the unfathomable greatness of a true Satguru. How can we possibly understand this concept of the Guru being EVERYTHING, if we do not have some kind of reference? We can not possibly understand the reality of Amma, because we do not have a psychological/spiritual reference within ourselves. It is like a grain of sand trying to comprehend the ocean! Amma has stated over and over again that She creates the circumstances and situations in our lives in order to break down the ego and bring us into awareness and experience of the TRUE SELF. "She alone is the manifestation of all cause and effect". How could She possibly manipulate events if She is not indeed part of everything that is? Our minds try to comprehend, but that comprehension is muddled by projections, pre-conceived notions and ego-stuff. We need a reference such as the Guru Gita, and I think it would wonderful to do this as a satsang event on a daily basis. To reflect, to share and to grow in our understanding. As we grow in our understanding, our trust in Her increases, and as our trust in Her increases, so to will our ability to surrender to Her Divine Will. We have so much to give each other. Even our "disagreements" hold the possibility of greater understanding, if only the ego steps out of the way. Maybe we could start from the beginning of the Guru Gita, and post one verse a day. We can then use that verse as the "theme of the day" for reflection and discussion. What does everyone else think about this idea? Maybe we could begin today or tomorrow, since we have just entered the new moon phase...awesome time to start something new, and begin again. Erica, would you be willing to post the verse each day? The True Guru is the cause of all circumstance. ALL of it. would be interested in learning of the Guru Principle as per The Guru Gita? a verse could be posted daily to comment on or just reflect on. There are a total of 182 verses but each one's depth is amazing to me. below are a couple of examples sort of along the lines of your words Mikki; Vs. 39 By whose gifts of wisdom and inspiration the universe is not perceived in various divisios. Who is the one form of truth of all forms. Therefore, we bow down to the respected Guru. Vs. 41 Who is the form of all cause, as well as the light buy which the form of the effect is illuminated. Who is the form of effect and cause. Therefore, we bow down to the respected Guru. Vs. 42 This all appears as various forms, whereas there is nothing which is different from the Guru. He(She) alone is the manifestation of cause and effect. Therefore, we bow down to the respected Guru. the idea that there is NOTHING that is not the Guru kind of blows me away when i think about it. that is deep some stuff Maynard! Guest guest
Dear Friends , I second that motion! I would love to start a practice as a group where we work together every day learning and growing. Also, did someone post something about Amma requesting that we all pray together every day at noon time, (wherever we find ourselves) for Peace on Earth? Or was I dreaming? hahaha Perhaps we could adopt that practice too? Guest guest
Erica and Sanatani, Yes, this sounds wonderful. I would even do it if I had the text. BTW, bowing down must be in the air today, as I was not yet familar with the Guru Gita and had not yet made it up to these posts in my inbox, and was inspired to remember the importance of bowing down and being the dust at the guru's feet. Guest guest
That was Eric who posted those verses, not Erica.
