Om Amrtesvaryai Namah!!

Namaskarams!!

May Amma bless and protect all of Her Children.

in my mind it is extremely unfortunate that any of our list members

have felt so upset by this discussion, trench warfare though it may

appear to be, that they feel they must resign from the list. Both

Chitanand and Ananthasree have for quite a long time now been regular

and valued contributors to creating this Amma space...it is very

unfortunate that they must take all this discussion so personally that

leaving is the only option. it seems to me that negotiation and

compromise and so on are always best if possible.

i must apologise to them and others if any of my actions and writings

here contributed to their feelings of upset and desire to depart.

That was NOT my intention. My intention was merely to share what i am

personally interested in and excited about...i don't expect everyone

to love what i love, but i know that there are quite a few who do

enjoy similar offerings, even if there are quite a few who do not...my

offerings are meant for the few who might enjoy them, and anyone who

doesn't, simply may not read my letters if they find them too

upsetting....or as Keval so rightly insists, hit the delete key!!

what is wrong with hit the delete key? What is wrong with SELF

regulation? what is wrong with choosing to read what we want and

discarding the rest?? why do we feel that we simply MUST have our own

way, and that the group simply MUST conform to our own version of how

things SHOULD be??? the group is composed of many different folks with

many different understandings and desires and ways of expressing

themselves....why do we have to run this group like the SS is in

charge? we don't need any more police states in my opinion.

i think that Keval does a wonderful job moderating this list. He keeps

out all the spam and really bad stuff that is attacking our mail

systems everyday. HE does NOT see that it is HIS job to POLICE the

list for subversive material...and infact believes that most of the

postings despite popular opinion ARE relevant to Ammachi. i agree with

him and support him fully...also i agree with Manoj..instead of trying

to change OTHERS we should stick to changing ourselves!!..also as said

by another member, we should remember what Amma said in that quote

that was posted....

"Peace and happiness are synonyms. The more open you are, the more

peaceful and happy you feel and vice versa." -Amma

it appears to me that the lack of peace and happiness to be found in

many of the members of this group who are engaged in this latest round

of trench warfare is exactly due to the causes stated by AMMA above...

we are closed off and expecting the other person alone to change!!

we want things our way or the highway!

like Keval i too feel that the list was previously run TOO strictly,

leaving less room for honest expression of one's ideas and

feelings...but that is just how i (and some others feel)....

i do believe that this list as it is, is just fine...nothing wrong

with occasional disagreements as that is the nature of life...and if

we expect this to be a SATSANG...then we must also expect that Amma is

going to turn Her rock tumbler on to full speed!!!! and that all our

rough edges are going to get knocked around until they are broken up

and removed, and eventually we become smooth and shiny, and more like

what Amma expects us to be. She knows full well just how much ego each

one of us is still proudly carrying around with us, and it is HER Job

through our daily lives and through satsang, INCLUDING THIS satsang,

which She has BLESSED as a satsang to work on our egos...to exert Her

powers to help us to grow to be adorable...

Right now many of us are defintitely showing that on occasion we can

be very UN adorable, as evidenced by the writings recently on this

list...however that is to be expected. it is just how it is...why

worry about it or run away from it? After all it IS Amma's way of

working on us...and we ARE one big not so happy family...and how do

families behave with each other?? there are always conflicts and

disagreements...but that doesn't mean that we shouldn't love each

other and support each other as much as possible.

Just as was stated by Dayamrita Br. when asked why there is so much

fighting in the satsangs a while ago...it is because we are

FAMILY...Amma's family...so it is to be expected!!! we are not meant

to take it so personally and get all worked up all the time...we are

meant to take it philosophically, as just being the way things

are...we are not meant to try to change other people...we are meant to

understand the reality of the situation and just MOVE FORWARD from

there...with a firm understanding that this is just the way people

are...and not expecting them to be any different...Our job is not to

work on other people... our job is to work on ourselves, when we see

that we are in conflict and upset, and our egos are hurting..that is

GOOD>..because otherwise we are not even aware of the ego....pain

helps us to grow if we have the right attitude...

anyways...it is really unfortunate that anyone has to take things so

personally that they feel they must leave the list...after all it IS

Amma's E-Satsang...the ONE list that She has BLESSED...all of those

other ones that people are talking about migrating to are NOT blessed

by Her in the same way...

WE really should be careful what we ask Amma...i am surprised that

folks are not aware of this...as soon as we ask Amma to bless this

list She does...and that means increased ACTION...increased

FRICTION....increased ROCK TUMBLING...it does not mean increased

sweetness and light...because those will NOT help us to grow to be

adorable...ONLY FRICTION, ACTION, and ROCK TUMBLING will achieve

Amma's aims for us....so why are we surprised that this is what is

happening here???? instead we should be THANKFUL for all of the

disagreements and arguments and so on...because they provide an

opportunity to watch the ego in action...it can not remain hidden in

these cases...but will reveal itself, and that is what AMMA wants for

us...that we should be aware of what is going on in our mental

lives...not just blindly sleepwalkingly move through the motions of

sweetness and light, unaware of ego's hidden agendas and so on...

SO instead of leaving this list, rather we should be THANKING Amma for

all of the disagreements and fighting...it actually shows that SHE HAS

taken over the list and is really BLESSING it...in HER own imitable

way...(the word to bless comes from French, meaning to "WOUND"...again

because it is ONLY in PAIN that we grow and learn)

May Amma Bless and protect each and every one of Her darling children

on this list and every where else on the world too!

in Her Divine Love,

and in Her Service,

as ever,

your own blessed Self,

visvanathan

Namah Shivayah,

I would just like to clarify that my personal choice in leaving the group has nothing to do

with any of the implied/guessed at or assumed reasons stated below. For others, it may be

different...but you would have to ask them. Although, the following does resonate with me

and speaks more to the exact reason why I have chosen to move on:

"we are not meant to take it so personally and get all worked up all the time...we are

meant to take it philosophically, as just being the way things

are...we are not meant to try to change other people...we are meant to

understand the reality of the situation and just MOVE FORWARD from

there...with a firm understanding that this is just the way people

are...and not expecting them to be any different...Our job is not to

work on other people... our job is to work on ourselves."

Additionally, when it comes to anything outside of my personal relationship with Her, I try

to shy away from assuming what Amma may or may not think, say, or be up to.

"> anyways...it is really unfortunate that anyone has to take things so

> personally that they feel they must leave the list...after all it IS

> Amma's E-Satsang...the ONE list that She has BLESSED...all of those

> other ones that people are talking about migrating to are NOT blessed

> by Her in the same way..."

How are we capable of discerning what is blessed by Amma or not? Everything is Hers.

Everything is blessed by Amma. Wherever her name is invoked with sincerity and devotion,

Amma is there. In addition to some heartfelt and relevant points, an awful lot of

assumption was made in that post. It is quite courageous to state what is blessed and

what is not blessed by the Divine Mother. Yikes.

I just wanted to clarify my reasons for leaving are based on my own personal relationship

with Amma and my striving to heed her advice. It has nothing to do with not being open or

not wanting to hear others points of view. I have no choice but to obey my Guru and be led

in the direction she leads me. My relationship with Amma and the directions she leads me

in are not up for debate. Nor should they be up for debate for ANYONE, no matter what

their views are.

Basically, it comes down to wanting more God and less distraction. It is a very spiritually

intense time for me right now and I need to go into the cave, so to speak. This list has not

been about Amma for some time. It has been whirlpool of egos, assumptions and

arguments just waiting to explode. Is that her will? Who knows? Who can say with authority

that she is the one causing the rocks to tumble? Sometimes, we just need to look inside of

ourselves and not use Amma to justify every opinion we have. Organized religion has been

doing that for centuries, and look how many people have had to die because of it.

I have to say also, that it still baffles me how the request to keep an Ammachi group

focused on Ammachi is somehow "strict" or wrong in some way. Go figure. Certainly

Amma talks about openess....but she is far from a FREE-FOR-ALL type of Guru.. As anyone

who has spent time around her as Mahakali knows...she isn't merely smiles and hugs...but

discipline and discrimination as well.

I just had to post again after reading that long list of assumptions and best guesses as to

why I and others are leaving.

I swear, I am shutting up now! (i hope) :)

Loving you all...

Ever At Her Feet,

Jai Ambe Jagadambe Mata Bhavani Jai Ambe!

Ananthasree

"Only one who follows the Guru's instructions without question will be able to reach the

goal." ~Amma

"It is not wise to go near a rabid dog, declaring everything is Brahman. The friend who

asks you to stay away from the dog is also Brahaman. If you don't have the discrimination

to decide on the right course of action in this case, your life will be ruined." ~Amma

"The 'knowledge' that we have now has not been gained through sadhana. We have just

read what others have written, and we sit around mouthing the words, 'I am Brahman' but

we do not show any compassion, humility, or forgiveness towards anyone. Such people

have no right to utter the word Brahman. If you train a parrot, it will also say 'Brahman',

but if a cat comes by, the parrot will only know to cry in fear. It will die crying. Instead of

just repeating the word 'Brahaman', we have to absorb that principle. We have to fix it in

our minds through constant contemplation. It has to be experienced. Those who have

experienced it do not have to keep saying, 'I am Brahman'. We can feel that quality by just

going near them." ~Amma

I think in general people here talk about Ammachi and if few people here and there

mentioned other teachers names or experiences I see no reason to be so hot tempered ,

silence is best answer if a person would not like to read post about someone else , they

should skip it , there are plenty of other wonderful posts in this group about Ammachi only.

It is silly to get so offended and not wise most of all. Let only beautiful things come and go

from this group . Beautiful thoughts please and all is beautiful. A little humility , calmness ,

tolerance , not speaking harsh words is only what Amma is looking for. Amma is not a

spiritual fascist , She is Love therefore no need to run away . These things in life are just as

they are dear brothers and sisters all this bickering over some teachers here and there is

really a waste of time . There are very precious posts and people here .

just thoughts , joanna

Om Namah Shivaya,

Towards the end of the Darshan movie, words across the screen stated something like how we are to become even minded in all situations, whether in pleasure or in pain. This satsang provides yet another opportunity to pratice that, & to love eachother unconditionally. Right now I'm feeling that my attitude towards this e-satsang should be one of service. Ananthasree, Georgeson, & others who have left, have wonderfully served devotess here. I would prefer that they stayed, but I'm grateful for the help they've shared here.

Sweta

"Just as was stated by Dayamrita Br. when asked why there is so much

fighting in the satsangs a while ago...it is because we are

FAMILY...Amma's family...so it is to be expected!!! we are not meant

to take it so personally and get all worked up all the time..."
